"Old, run down, ants and wasps. Not a deal breaker for me but the terrible management IS where I draw the line! Kevin, (the onsite manger) told me I couldn’t have a charcoal grill(even though there’s a fireplace IN the apartment! Kevin also told me no floats in the pool because, “They take up too much space….” I was the only one in the pool. Kevin also tried to get me to add anyone who stayed over night a certain number of days like 15 or 20 nights a year to MY lease, and essentially giving them rights to my apartment. Stuff like this kept happening to charge all the residents $40 to keep himself I assume. In addition when I originally moved in Kevin tried to charge me a months rent in addition to the usual $500 deposit After paperwork was submitted AND paid. I chose to seek advocacy because Kevin had already mentioned the deposit would only be $500. $1750+ is a little harder to come up with unexpectedly than $500! Eventually the deposit was confirmed with Affinity Property Management directly and Kevin had to credit my renter portal account one months rent for his “mistake!” I personally lived there for over three years and the hot tub never got fixed and has not operated since the first quarter of 2020! Rent steadily increases approx. $100-$120 every year even though they do less and less to accommodate or even meet the advertised amenities you've been led to expect. I was on the waiting list for a on site storage garage since Dec. 2020 and never received an update or status of when I could expect one would be available, yet new residents had garages upon move in. Blatant discrimination or at least nepotism All and all i feel like i would've been better off had I never considered moving in!Woulda left Zero stars if possible!"
"I’ve lived here for over 3 years and I have to say this is one of the better overall apartments I’ve lived in. The building manager Kevin has always been straight forward with us and they were quick to do any maintenance when requested. Parking is a little tricky at times due to mostly everyone working similar timeframes but you don’t pay extra for parking which I wholly appreciate. It’s a quiet secluded area and most of the neighbors keep to themselves amicably and occasionally wave hello, it’s a friendly and quiet environment which you would hardly believe that families with children live here too its so quiet! The pool is a nice amenity during the summertime and any environmental occurrence is swiftly dealt with by management and his maintenance crew. The area does attract ants due to all the greenery but if you take preventative measures they’re taken care of. I loved seeing all the squirrels around the place because of the trees and nuts that grow every year. They don’t bother you and they are so accustomed to people they just run away and leave you alone haha. If you’re looking for a quieter apartment on Hall Blvd in a more relaxed environment I highly suggest St. James on Hall Blvd. If we ever move back looking for apartments we’ll be calling Kevin first!"
"I lived here about a year and a half. It was a nice place and great location. The parking was a bit tight and hard to find at points but you don't pay extra for it so that is a plus. The manager was always extremely nice and quick to fix any problems I had. They cleaned the grounds once a week or more which kept it looking clean. It is an older complex so it has it's flaws but over all it worked very well for me and management was pleasant to work with!"
"I stayed in this place for one and half year. This is not the best place I have lived. Building and inside stuffs are old, so cheap. The worst part is - before moving out, perfectly cleaned the apartment, and called the manager and showed him everything. He said all looks good, and he will return my deposit within week or two. I called them couple of times but they said they will get back to me but never did. 3 months passed and since I was close to that place, I went there in person. At that time he said he had to clean the apartment, change the carpet, and paint the room so he used all the money to do so. Before this I never got any call or letter from them saying they are doing this. Keep in mind - I don't have any pet or kid mess up his paint, carpet or any other stuff. I also had to pay $1.50 on top of my $300 deposit which he ripped off. So this was a horrible experience. If something was wrong - he should have told me when he was there for inspection."
