Reviews of Crystal Springs Apartments
"This is an older apartment complex so the apartments are more spacious than newer buildings which is very nice. It is also right next to Westmoreland park. The only downside is a homeless man who has lived next to the apartment for 20 years. He used to tend a nice garden but the garden was removed. He moved to the other side of the complex and likes to make his presence known to the tenants. So he would be your neighbor if you lived here."
"Wanted to give a shout-out to apartment manager Bob and Circum Pacific for their commitment to fair housing and following the Portland FAIR ordinance. From what I’ve seen, they’re doing a stellar job of complying with the 72 hour posting requirement making sure that everyone has an equal shot at their units. Their application link doesn’t go live until the application period opens, so no worries about submitting too early and getting an 8 hour penalty, or wondering if others have snuck in ahead of you. Bob was very helpful and informative when we spoke on the phone, and while that specific apartment configuration didn’t match our needs at this time, I would feel very comfortable working with them should our circumstances change in the future. Keep up the good work, Bob and Circum Pacific!"
"I like our living here . It’s about 5 months already . Very peaceful and lovely area , close to the Westmoreland park and playground for my kids . Plus we have creek and view on it from our living room and it’s lovely to see birds and hear their morning and evening songs . Manager can fix any problem within 1 hour after requesting, often it takes 5 minutes only ones you make maintenance request online . Very cute area and my apartment is plain but clean and I feel comfortable here ."
"I loved living here. For nearly three years it was a haven of affordability in Sellwood. We definitely had a good deal, and I would recommend it to anyone. I also can't say enough good things about Bob, the apartment manager. He was very decent with myself and my husband. Every time I called him in regards to the apartment he was prompt, and efficient. He always took care of any problem I had. We were treated with a lot of kindness, and that is no small thing in this rental market, especially considering how cheap our apartment was comparatively. There are some draw backs to living here: First it is by the park, and despite the perception that Sellwood is a safe neighborhood, I did witness several incidences of crime. My vehicle was stolen several times, but I do believe we were targeted because of the make and model of our vehicle. The park can also be loud, at all times of the day. But it is beautiful and the view is wonderful. I very much enjoyed the layout of the apartment, which is very smart with space usage. We had tons of storage compared to other places with similar square footage. I will say that the ceiling/floors are very thin. We often heard our downstairs neighbor snoring, but we never heard our next door neighbors. The community garden is paradise. And free, and wonderful. But it is run by a homeless man who I couldn't stand. So, while I would have loved to have gardened there, it just wasn't worth the tirades and personal attacks that seemed to come out of no where. The pool is nice in the summer. Very laid back. You are close to everything in Sellwood and the city is right there, as well as the Max. Most of my neighbors were elderly, and had lived at Crystal Springs for a long time. I loved most of them and it definitely felt like living in a community where you could knock on someone's door and ask for a cup of sugar. We left because we bought a house, and saw the writing on the wall when it came to rent in Sellwood. Still, I believe Crystal Springs is a good deal, and if you treat those in the community with respect you will receive it in return."
"I love living here. I've been here for years, and the managers, Bob and Carol, are the best. It's clean, safe, and very pretty. The cost of rent has been jumping up so fast, it's hard to keep up. No fault of the managers, it's the owners and just the times we're in here in Portland. I'd love to stay, but I'm about to be priced out. Sad, because it's the first place I lived that feels like home."
