Reviews of Reserve at Ashbrook
"My partner and I scheduled a tour of one of the units, and the agent was a no show. I knocked on the office door twice, knocked on the unit door twice, and waited 25 minutes. They didn’t take down our phone number either, so obviously had no plans to contact us. Really unprofessional and a total waste of time."
"If I could leave, zero stars, or a negative review, I would. The manager Kristin Gleason is probably one of the most incompetent people I have ever met. Over the course of my residency for two years, I have never been more unhappy, living somewhere. Each time I had a maintenance issue, Kristen would take several days, most times- weeks to respond, and after I called her out on the lack of response, she then became verbally aggressive, and accused me of breaking my appliances on purpose. I should mention I only got a response after calling the corporate office and leaving a message. Trying to get my deposit back is a whole other issue… After waiting more than two months Kristen told me that it had already been sent out and I was the one who is incorrect. when I asked her to send me an email with my deposit accounting, she told me she was conveniently on vacation and could not. I would suggest living in a tent under a bridge near a methadone clinic before living in this apartment complex."
"We lived at the Ashbrook Reserve for two years and absolutely loved it. We loved our 1 bedroom, spacious layout, modern, clean, and quiet apartment. We never had any problems with our neighbors, they were all very friendly. We loved the central location in Tigard. Management were always quick to respond to any maintenance requests, great at notifying us of any changes, and have regular landscaping that does a fantastic job. It’s a very clean and nice complex and very dog friendly. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute, modern, clean and comfortable apartment in Tigard. I was hesitant at first because of the previous reviews but we loved our apartment and never had any issues. Also the new sound wall built on the 217 works wonders!"
"It's a nice place, good people as far as I can tell so far, but expensive. We knew it would be more, but soon learned the utilities, trash etc aren't included, so it really adds up. Be aware of that! Example, The water seems to be prorated/per person estimate?; and you have to pay a separate company but through them for (large footprint/ but small internal) trash/recycle roll bins, vs larger community bin. If you have multiple persons in the lease the bill only comes addressed to 1 person (which is kind of concerning if you are in a roommate situation if someone moves) but I don't know the logistics that entails, we don't have said issue. The trash bins look large but they are not! So if you need bigger things at all (like microwave size), you got to arrange and pay a haul away. Not kidding it's pretty unusual if you are used to a standard apartment. On perks it's pretty quiet neighborhood circle. You do get a garage, and in unit washer (it's loud but works well), lower have hardwood upper has carpet, so that's nice. On the downside... or upside if you like it... especially in winter there's constant highway white noise. Another big one if you do not drive or have only 1 car and multiple people... You might look elsewhere. There is -zero- public transit unless you walk all the way out the complex up to the starbucks area up the road (a unfun hike in the rain/ dark next to a highway like area, so not especially safe for females at night). There is also no smoking which is great in theory but walking out to the road? I'd say don't bother being a smoker unless you enjoy walking out each time (not a problem for us but when we had company, having people walk all the way out to the street is... Yep.) These used to be two level condos that are separated into now two floors I believe. The second bedroom is 10x10. It really seems more like an office. Why this review isn't a 4 ( it would be at the beginning!) _______ Important new factor: There's is now construction beside parts of this complex , where another property around us, are tearing out surrounding trees to build another apartment building, which includes: felling trees, digging with C.a.t. machines, metal pipes or wood being dropped, loudly. Like shake the house and stuff falls off a shelf at times, loudly. Beeping and large machine noise. It's quite loud many hours of almost every day, not going to lie, this is making it a bit difficult to like lately. I seriously worry as who knows how long it will end up taking to build said complex, it's taken several months of tearing out the area already, 7am to 8pm, constantly you hear it. I know this isn't the properties fault: but also there's been no public discussion it just started happening, and it was jarring and frustrating. I believe people should be aware if they are moving here it's now next to construction. On other note It's been a bit difficult to reach staff or get calls returned many months after moving in, but they have switched managers so we will see! Will update as things change. I am crossing fingers we will see more interaction, and the construction noise be less intense. We really miss the privacy and noise dampening the trees provided and I hope our management puts in higher privacy measures ( hedge or fence) since it's now pretty open and less unique/ wonderful then it originally was.it has definite benefits but there's some real concerns too especially if you have issues with noise/ vibration shaking your living space for blocks of time. If that changes I will amend this."
"I signed a lease and put in a full deposit $925 back in July 2019. I moved out towards the end of 2019. I left a roommate still at the house, when i spoke with Bill the previous manager he stated i would have to wait until the lease ended to receive my deposit. Ok so i waited another 6 months for my deposit to be returned. At this point the new Manager Carly stated they can't return my deposit until that roommate has left the property. Ok so i waited another year - Forward to June 2021 that roommate has now left the property. I've called several times and left voicemails and they do not return my call. This place is a scam, they will never return your deposit and give you the run around. Parking is a cluster, next to freeway with lots of road noise and Management is terrible they don't even pick up the phone and personnel changes every year. Stay away from this place."
