"Our son is getting OIT here and we are satisfied with the service, however there is room for improvement in regard to a couple areas. After visit summaries would be greatly appreciated with a summary of what was done, and the plan for next visit. This summary should include questions we asked and the answers given. Also, on at least 2 occasions we have gotten some attitude from caregivers when we have asked for clarification. Peanut allergies in little kids are stressful and having the information written down could greatly reduce confusion and room for error. Staff are knowledgeable, but if they could improve on communicating that knowledge and recording summaries I would have given a higher rating, and not be looking around at other clinics."
"Terrible experience. Went in as new patient for my 2 year old to see Dr. Fritz and clinic is picky about arrivals. Appointment was at 11. And they need you 30 minutes early. And if you’re not in 30 minutes early they’ll give you attitude. Keep in mind I work at a clinic myself so I know how things go. I arrived around 10:45-10:50 and they gave me attitude about being late and making it seem like I my child not get seen due to a lot of paper needing to be filled out. I filled out all the paperwork and still had to wait past 11 to be seen. They didn’t take my copay either. I had to remind them I had a copay after bringing the paperwork back to them. After being taken back we were asked how tall and how much our child weighed. But I didn’t have an exact answer. If they know they need height and measurements then they should have a scale and measurement tool to do so. Instead they made me look through her charts to find the answers. Which was unprofessional to me. After seeing the Dr, I was told no blood had to be drawn and that they were going to test my child for various things at the next appointment. We came to next appointment and didn’t even see Dr. Fritz. My child was only tested on one thing. And on top of that we were sent to the lab to get blood drawn. Only to find out that the results were negative when they tested her at the clinic. And they didn’t even tell us about the results. They wanted to send us to the lab to be sure that the test was actually negative. Which they should’ve explained to us the reason why after the results were in since my child is so young and did not really need her blood drawn since we already had the answer. But nothing was communicated to us and nothing was done the way the Dr said it would be. Definitely do not recommend this clinic and definitely not going back."
"EXTREMELY disappointed with Portland Allergy and Asthma. My fiance has been going here for a while and has appreciated the service. However, today we called this morning to double check that it would be open, and that their appointment would be at a specific time. My fiance then had to walk to the clinic because we didn't feel safe driving - then it was LOCKED. Nobody showed up. Apparently there was lunch from 12:30 to 1:30, and they just never came back despite multiple people being there waiting for them. They never called or texted us to let us know they were going to be closed or should come later - we had to call them, and they told us the appointment would be fine. My fiance waited out there an incredibly long time in the cold, wet, and incredibly upset. They were freezing waiting to be let in for their appointment. Now they have to walk back home in this dangerous weather. They had to be off of antihistamines for a week leading up to this test, and now not only did they have to go through this weather, they also have to redo a week of no antihistamines when their allergies have been incredibly bad. Today was shameful."
"I've had a good experience here for asthma treatment and also allergy injections. It's a lot of work to get allergy injections, but I think worth it. The front staff is great, there has been some turnover as with all business during post-COVID. But Maria and others so friendly. They had to close one day a week I think due to difficulty hiring trained staff, but they are back up to 4 days a week. I saw Cheryl who was a nurse practitioner and is just now leaving, she was awesome and sorry she is gone."
"We had an amazing experience at Portland Allergy and Asthma. We did OIT and now my son can eat milk and eggs, both which he was highly allergic to before coming here. I can’t say enough great things about Stephanie. She went above and beyond every visit to make sure we had a comfortable visit. My son actually looks forward to coming to visits now. I highly recommend Dr. Fritz and his team. I am so thankful for their knowledge and giving us the freedom from food allergies."
