"Went in with a badly infected tooth. Did exam and X-rays, but were unable to even give me an appointment to deal with the tooth. I am a single parent. It is hard to get out to get to appointments, and now I am worried I will die from this infection. Front desk had no cares in the world. I waited three weeks for an emergency appointment that didn’t even help me."
"My brother went in for an emergency extraction because his tooth had blown up. You know what they did? Took an x-ray, said they were done, and sent him home; no painkillers, no antibiotics, no appointment set. Does that sound like the issue was even remotely solved, or like the staff even cared to begin with? A disgusting disregard of ethics when they have the auto-pilot of a Taco Bell shift around human suffering."
"Uh, hello, just had to write a review on the excelsior service at this clinic. The front desk is on the ball, specifically Stephanie in scheduling. I've literally never seen someone follow through on care so prompt and accurate, it's like I'm taking time to catch up to do my part. It's hard to believe this is a county clinic. I love my dentist who is also seeing my kids. He caught a mass in my son's gums that had not been caught by any other x-ray to date. I feel like they care about doing a good job. Def recommend."
"Bittersweet review. Dr. Reuven is the BEST. READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH : About a month ago I had to have a tooth extracted. they numbed me and attempted to “wiggle” the tooth loose, which just translated to them trying to rip my tooth out and loosening he ones around it. after that didn’t work they had to cut it out, with an electric saw. the whole experience left me literally traumatized. after they finally cut it out they gave me zero after care, zero pain meds, and handed me a baggy full of gauze and said to change it in thirty minutes. they did not tell me ANY care instructions, which lead me to getting dry socket and my pain didn’t go away until three weeks later, which now i have a growth that i have to get cut off because it healed wrong (because they gave me zero care instructions.) there are no rooms, only doorless stalls. it’s sad that when you’re poor you’re treated less than animals. at least animals get their own kennels. truly traumatic in every sense. today i went for a cleaning, and instead the dentist had to poke around just to assess how to do cleaning. from the moment i walked in he was kind and made me feel comfortable. without asking he told me he would be showing me a diagram and explaining what he would be doing. he did so very comprehensively. after explaining he poked around and explained what care i would need, how he would do it, and what to expect. he also specifically made my appointments so i would have him for all four cleaning sessions. i thanked him profusely, in my four visits there he was the only good dentist. the others were anywhere from horrible, to dismissive, to fully checked out. I believe his name is Dr. Rueven. he’s truly incredible and probably the best dentist i’ve ever had so far. poverty sucks and it really sucks to be treated like cattle, but at least there’s one good person in the endless stalls of horrible people."
"Ruben! What a gem! I was lucky to have this twenty-year hygienist on my team today. He was efficient and thorough, while also being reasonably gentle. He recommended products for tooth whitening that I immediately ordered when I got home. He was kind and explained everything before and as he worked. I felt very safe with him wearing two protective masks and am so happy I was able to get my teeth cleaned by him today, even though it can be a little worrisome with COVID-19. All front office staff has been excellent as well!"
