"This is my second stint as a patient at North Lake Physical Therapy (NLPT). My intent in this review is to share my observations and experiences at NLPT. Though lengthy, it is genuine. First, the physical layout of the clinic is different from other PT clinics. There is one large room with several treatment tables and private treatment rooms along one wall.This space is shared with the check in counter and waiting area. This creates a setting where one can hear staff discussing playlists, weekend plans, etc. In a way personalizing the treatment experience. Now, for my most recent patient stint. My primary care doc prescribed PT for an ailing shoulder. Based on my previous experience, NLPT was the only provider I would let touch me. I was again teamed with clinic co director Jennifer Bissig DPT and began a twice weekly treatment plan. Weeks into treatment, I saw the orthopedic doctor. After listening to the results of the MRI, I was bummed and ready to have another joint replaced. The ortho advised that I could stop PT and slowly return to my workout regimen. I canceled my future appointments at NLPT and convinced myself it wasn’t a matter of if but when. If surgery was going to happen, get it over with NOW. Fortunately, this NLPT clinic is located within the East Side Athletic Club (where I workout). I say fortunately, because I was able to stop in and discuss my situation with Dr. Bissig. It was her opinion there was more that PT could do for me, in essence talking me off the proverbial ledge.. I implicitly trust Dr. Bissig. I reinstated appointments continuing my twice weekly visits. Dr. Bissig’s skill, knowledge, experience, patience and caring have resulted in a tremendous increase in my range of motion. Pain and discomfort have also decreased substantially. I am slowly returning to my workout regimen and active lifestyle. My trust in NLPT and Dr. Bissig were well placed. For the most part, PT is not a passive experience. The patient must do the work and there is “homework”. Results don’t often materialize quickly. For me, this has been a journey of several months. I have waxed eloquent about Dr. Bissig. The entire team at NLPT deserves kudos; clinic co-director Brian, Sarah, Angela, Eke and Gabby have been involved in my treatment at some point. All showed commitment to my success and well being . Enough verbosity, cut to the chase – I highly recommend NLPT Milwaukie and wouldn’t consider any other PT provider in the future."

"I've been to a lot of physical therapy offices throughout my life and this is by far the best! The set-up of the office is unique and creates a community of support from the moment Gabby greets patients with a smile. I enjoy engaging in conversation and laughter with everyone there about soccer, weekend plans, and throwback songs that they play. Jenny really listens to not only the specific pain issues people are experiencing, but tries to understand how these issues impact their daily lives. She works with her patients to make achievable goals. I have some back issues I've been dealing with for many years and she is working with me to figure out ways to both alleviate the immediate pain and strengthen my body to correct the problems. As a busy mom of three, going to PT feels like a retreat- there's good energy, I work towards feeling better in my body, and I get to relax with heat treatment at the end!"

Everyone has been so good to me here in asking the right questions, listening to what I say and formulating a plan to help me recover and reach my goals.
