"I’d give zero stars if I could. After my long time primary provider retired from his position locally, my whole family scrambled to find anyone locally who could take us. Ultimately, my twin sister and I decided we’d like to seek out a female doctor this time as we are young women and felt it might be more fitting for us. We were recommended Dr. Ehlers and despite her being booked out for many, many months, we made our appointments. Because of this long wait, I had to pay for an expensive visit to Express Care just to get refills for my vital prescriptions because neither provider would help me get my medication and I had suffered from debilitating withdrawals because of this. As the date approached, I realized had forgotten my date as it had been made months prior. I made a call to the office and was told that my appointment had actually been that morning. I was very sorry for this mistake and felt awful for not letting the office know, but it was just that, a honest mistake that I’m sure many others make. I had no reminders from the office in the days leading up as well. So I rescheduled my appointment. Imagine my shock when I get a call the next morning that Dr. Ehlers had cancelled my new appointment and would never take me as a patient again. I felt this was extremely uncalled for behavior from a professional. And imagine my sister’s shock when her date came a few weeks later and Dr. Ehlers cancelled her appointment with hours notice! Leaving my sister without refills on our prescriptions and now suffering with the same withdrawals I did. So hypocritical and ironic. The office did get her an appointment a month after her initial date but that is a whole month she will either be without her medication or have to pay an expensive bill to go to express care like I did. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior from a medical professional. If you don’t want to feel insignificant and maliciously denied by a provider, Dr. Ehlers is not the choice to make. I hope Carmen will see this and understand that it’s not okay to make patients feel like way, especially young women who were so eager to call her their longtime provider."
