"My surgeon recommended an orthotic support and suggested Hanger Clinic as a good place for that. My experience might help you understand why there are too many negative reviews, I was almost one of them until I fully understood the product. I will start with the unique benefit they offer in orthotics. At no extra charge, they can make big adjustments to the orthotic. I am not aware of any other orthotic product that can be so significantly altered after being made. In my case, that turned pain and disappointment to pleasure and healing. :) Background. The first version of the insert caused significant pain after using it for a short time. I figured I was "stuck" because other orthotics cannot be majorly- altered. I made an appointment to express disappointment with the product and see if I could get any part of my money back (medical stuff never is by why not ask?). The clinician, a very bright and insightful person, was as disappointed as I was. It seemed to me it was not just a job to her; it was her craft. We carefully went over the problems with the orthotic. She left the waiting room and came back in about 20 minutes. The significantly-changed orthotics are so awesome I didn't even want to take my shoes off when I kicked back on the recliner. She wanted me to ease into it over a few days, but it feels so great I will probably want to accelerate that. Many of us with foot problems/injuries struggle to find products that work, Hanger Clinic is often not our first rodeo, so to speak. As a result, it made me pretty cynical so when the product caused such pain, it was too-easy to be upset and just give it up and leave a scathing review. I am very happy... delighted.. that I made that appointment. I feel that many (probably most) negative reviews are from people who didn't give them the chance to make their unique orthotic product work. I was almost one of them."
"Was referred here for my orthotics. Needed a little adjustment and wanted a second pair but Jamie never returned any phone calls or emails. I've called the office numerous times and receptionist apologizes and says she will let Jamie know but still after over a month and a half, no return call. Service at first was great until they get there money. Guess I'll just have to go in and talk to whom ever is in charge there."
"I had a reconstruction of a foot. I also have a 1/2” shorter leg. Mid April I transitioned from boot to tennis shoe. The day before my orthotic appointment was to occur it was rescheduled a month out because Curtis was out with Covid. When I came to my appointment Curtis made a mold. I was scheduled again a month out to pick it up because another technician was out with Covid . Curtis made the orthotic based on the old orthotic not on the new mold. I was again scheduled a month out. Finally I picked up my orthotic. Because of all the problems Curtis made me two. It needed some adjusting. Again I was scheduled a month out. This Monday I have an appointment to get it adjusted. That’s 4 1/2 months that I have not been able to walk on the bottom of my foot without great difficulty. I have an ankle replacement scheduled. So I’ll only get to walk on this orthotic for a month. Not going back after next surgery. Found somewhere else to get orthotics that says it will be a week to get them. And adjustments are just a few days. I understand that we’ve all been through Covid but this has really been unacceptable"
"Hanger clinic employees are some of the nicest I have ever dealt with. Curtis is the most caring and knowledgeable about what is best to make your braces work for you. I have always been able to talk with him about my health and options that I have for improved health"
