"I am a 71 year old woman with fairly aggressive arthritis. I saw Dr Desai with an injured and inflamed knee 10 years ago. I can say this was the worst pain I had ever experienced including natural chidbirth ! I had PRP and Stem cell therapy that was successful. Jumping ahead 10 years, after 5 mos of a lot of instability and pain in my opposite knee and a torn menicus, the knee became very inflamed. There have been many advancements in the field of regenerative medicine, so I returned again to Restore PDX and was referred to Dr Brice Blatz. Dr Desai now focusing on spine and neck. Dr Blatz has a great deal of current experience in the area of biologic therapies. His training and skill set were easily vetted and when I had my appointment with him I felt very confident. This was contributed to by outstandingly thoughtful, detailed, communication from his scribe Wesley. I also found Dr Blatz warm and personable, articulate and very honest about the level of improvement to be expected if I decided to go with BLP. Prior to the "big" procedure I had an injection for some pain relief that was skillfully given by Dr Blatz. I did have the bigger procedure on the Sept 5th so am 1 week post op. I found everything clean, the nurses, PA's, anesthesiologist thoughtful and very caring and interested in my comfort. Carey, the RT, who has been with Dr Desai for years, is a machine of effiency and wonderful at explaining whats happening to her patients during the procedure. I am only one week out but am healing well and hopeful for good significant improvement. I will post again in 6 mos. These are fine people, very skilled and I highly recommend this practice and more specifically, from my personal experience, Dr Blatz and Dr Desai. This is a fine outcome and tho I had to pay out of pocket, worth every cent. I continue to feel confident in this practice. Because I am a poor candidate for joint replacement, restorative medicine is my best hope for a moderately active life as a senior and for pain management. I am extremely grateful for what they do and also know from the current medical science and research, that these procedures are the future for treating degenerative disease and orthopedic injury. In many first world countries regenerative medicine is the first option for treatment many are paid for and supported by the exisiting medical care systems in those countries. We once again lag behind in some areas of dramatic medical advancements due to interests not related to the well being of patients. There is no panacea for aging but my quality of life has greatly improved by what these physicians offer as well as following guidelines and doing Physical Therapy following my procedures or surgeries."
