"So grateful for the care I received from Dr. Markel and his team here in the IOP at Portland Anxiety Clinic. I struggled with severe OCD for 13 years before coming here in which I felt completely debilitated and hopeless due to my contamination OCD. I don't know how they were able to get me to do exposures, yet through their expertise, dedication, care, patience and encouragement...I was able to push through. It has been over a year since I was discharged yet I still have the tools they shared with me. To be honest I have struggled with COVID as it has triggered my OCD. Even though some old compulsions have returned, I am somehow able to handle this scary time we are in. Before coming here, I would have been a mess with everything that is going on now. I wish I could come back as this program really did help me! I also want to share that besides the tools I received for my OCD, my self confidence blossomed in which I am a much stronger person than I was over a year ago.My only complaint was having to leave the program as I loved working with my doctor and his team of doctorate students. They truly are the best and I don't know how I can ever thank them enough!!!"
