Reviews
"I have been experiencing Sciatic pain. I received a referral for a from my doctor (March, 2023) to Dr. Chand for an L5-S1 injection. I highly recommend him! The office was very responsive, the procedure was efficient, painless, and the Dr verbally walked me through what would happen next during the procedure. It was very successful. The pain returned in December. I contacted Dr Chand’s office. They scheduled me right away and I received a second injection, again, very successful. The follow up visit was thorough and very helpful regarding future steps if needed."
"Had two injections in the past two years for different issues with my spinal stenosis. The first injection resolved my first issue and it remains resolved at a zero pain level after more than a year. The second injection, for a different issue, was given two weeks ago and the pain level was at zero within a few minutes after leaving the office. Everyone at Cornell Pain Clinic is friendly, professional, understanding, and a pleasure to know and work with. I highly recommend them."
"Dr. Chand explained thoroughly all procedures. I was able to get appointments when needed which is a big plus in my book. I am currently pain free and not taking any medications for pain."
"I will be ending my relationship with this clinic for several reasons: 1. Their billing department is unorganized and on two occasions suprised me with a bill. On the first' they spent several months not charging me anything when i visited (even though I would ask about copays and fees every time) and then informed me I have a massive 600+ bill. Second time they sent me past due notices on a bill I had no idea existed because they never called me/asked for payment during appointments. They also tried charging me fees for missing appointments when they were calling the wrong phone number for months (despite my requests to stop). Its exauhsting how poorly they communicate. 2. The doctor is difficult to communicate with. Felt like he rarely listened to the issues I needed help with and fought me/pushed back on every treatment request I had. did not feel listened to. Tired of paying for a doctor who is clearly only in it for the paycheck. EDIT: seeing as I received a response from the clinic, all I will add is that my most recent billing issue happened/was resolved last week, so clearly it is not a staffing issue. It is an organization issue. They couldn't be bothered to call me instead of sending me past due notices, but I received a call as soon as I left this review. Weird! This response was not genuine. Im moving on from this clinic and looking for someone who conducts business in a more professional/caring way."
"Nurses and support staff were efficient and friendly. Dr. Chand was nice and tried to help me stay calm during excruciating procedures. One of them involved the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. Maria told me after the procedure that I could have asked for a sedative. I can't believe they don't tell you that up front. My pain levels are already bad enough that enduring pain that's even worse is like torture. I was literally screaming and sobbing uncontrollably. Later, I told Dr Chand that I could never go through that again. He said, "Well, it helped didn't it?" I told him that was beside the point and that without a sedative, it's not worth it. You get printed information on how to prepare for a procedure, as well as aftercare. The doctor was very light on answering questions and I had a lot of questions. Sometimes the nurses could answer them. Suggestion: spend a bit more time answering questions and tell people that a sedative is an option! Some things that I was told here did not line up with what other pain doctors were telling me. I think I had to keep a pain journal for a week or two after a nerve block. Another clinic said that was odd because the block only lasts for six hours. I requested nerve ablation for my SI joints and the doctor told me it was experimental, so he couldn't do the procedure. It's why I found a different doctor. My pain doctor at the VA said that procedure is performed all the time and is not experimental. Based on my overall experience, I just couldn't continue treatment here. Update 9/4/22: Contrary to the response to this review, the agonizing procedure where I was not offered sedation was for steroid shots in my SI joints, not a nerve block as they stated. Update 10/15/23: Portland Pain Care via NW Spine & Pain Surgical Center offers sedatives for both spinal steroid injections and nerve ablation. You're aware, but without discomfort."
