"Kat Kilkenny is the best!! She’s always super helpful, informative, and professional while still maintaining a down-to-earth persona. I never feel talked down to or like she’s just going through the motions, she’s never strong-armed me into a treatment plan I’m not comfortable with, she’s very good at explaining all the risks, benefits, and inner workings of the medications, and she’s funny as hell! Can’t recommend her enough!"
"I have been going to NW ADHD for years and I have always had excellent care and service. I read a comment below about one of their patients abusing there medication and I don’t think that they were getting their meds from NW ADHD. I mean, not the extra ones. NW ADHD is REALLY strict with their medications. There is no way they would over prescribe their patients. People who are going to abuse medications will usually buy them from their friends…and that is how they end up abusing them. NW ADHD can’t prescribe more than what is necessary for a patients body type. They would lose their license. On a more positive note, Meghan Demerich my nurse and Muoi Nguyen Cole my psychologist are a godsend. Meghan is so lovely and takes very good care of me. She watches my medicine intake closely and cares about me as person, not just as a patient. Muoi is one of the kindest, sweet, lovely individuals you will ever meet. She has really helped me since I began seeing her. I was a ball of anxiety, stress, and trauma and she has really helped me untangle myself. If we don’t have an appointment and I am having an especially bad day, she will call me and help me from going off the rails. She is truly a healer. I highly recommend NW ADHD."
"I have had providers treat my ADHD almost as if it didn't actually exist. It must be something else. But not here. NW ADHD providers have listened to me and understand that I change, my environment changes, and sometimes that means my medications must then too change. They do not treat me like a drug seeker (because I am not). I can tell you that I have been treated like a drug seeker and it freaking sucks. Because I already felt miserable and was struggling cognitively and then I had to negotiate my way through getting the treatment I needed...but NOT here. I did have to see their psychologist first. Which was annoying but beneficial. Their staff is friendly and patient. I would highly recommend them. As a matter of fact I tried to get my daughter in but their pediatric wait list is over a year out! It's always a good sign when a place is busy."
"I don't understand people's negative reviews of here. Before coming here I have seen 2 psychiatrists and another psychiatric nurse practitioner, and then there is the 5+ counselors I have seen. First of all I have never gone to a place that doesn't also require ongoing counseling. But one of the main differences here is they have psychologists. At no other office did they have psychologists on staff. Other places the psychiatrists would just talk to me for a short amount of time push the medication on me that I didn't want and make me talk to a counselor. I see the resident here, who is able to do a full diagnosis because she had a PHD in clinical psychology. Other places I went with psychiatrists on staff couldn't even diagnose or treat adhd. The resident psychologist is 100% more helpful and knowledgeable in terms of counseling and psychology than any counselor I have ever seen. I have a dual diagnosis of two other disorders, so I was already on medication starting here and the nurse practitioner has worked with me on refining my other medications as well ast treating the ADHD. She ordered genetic testing to see which medications I would respond best to, which has never been offered to me at any other office. She actually listens to all my my concerns and takes any adverse reactions to medication seriously. I have previously had a psychiatrist up my dosage of medications even when I was experiencing severe adverse effects. I feel like some of the reviews here are just looking for a quick stimulant source and not actually a treatment facility. I'm happy here than any other place I've ever gone."
"I am posting this as a spouse of a patient that came here. My husband was doing really well on low dose stimulants at first. And then they started dispensing more and more and at higher doses. My husband became addicted and started abusing his medications. He would take way too much and run out early and go through withdrawal. Before the crashes he would be out working until 2am thinking that was totally normal. Along with acting all wired up, and at times not able to even complete sentences. The adderall crashes are a living nightmare. I tried to talk to the Dr in person and she did not even listen or take me seriously whatsoever. This last crash was the worst yet. I tried calling multiple times to ask for help because I dont how to help someone going through this severe of withdrawal. After 3 days and multiple calls to the prescriber and Phsychiatrist not a single call back. I am just disgusted how easily these doctors prescribe stimulants and then dont care when your spouse is having a chrisis. So, if your a patient looking for easy stimulant scrips to abuse, this is the place for you! If your looking for doctors that care, I would run the other way as fast as you can. The perscriber that gives my husband his scrips is either completely clueless, or incompetent. It has ruined our lives. He is about to lose his job from missing so much work (during the crashes), he also has no emotion or good parts of his personality left, just anger. We are also discussing divorce now."
