Catbird Seat Bed and Breakfast

"My wife and I are a little too old to go camping these days with various health issues and insomnia. We wanted a place near Richardson Campground to spend the night while friends camped out. The catbird seat is only a mile and a half from the campground so we spent our evenings and nights and mornings here instead. This is a truly lovely place to stay. It’s decorated whimsically and artistically to make you feel so welcome. The hostess is so gracious. With true Southern hospitality she gave us access to 2 entire floors of her home. She is a culinary artist as well, cooking us genuine southern style grits and omelettes. Blueberry strada and maple sausages. Her home overlooking the Long Tom River Valley is very restful and peaceful. It was a great place to sleep and eat breakfast before we went and spent our days at the campground or walking along the shoreline watching the Sailboats as graceful as Swans skimming on the lake. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again next summer."

"Book it. Just do it. Elizabeth's B&B is phenomenal. Her home is very large, spacious, and stunning décor that has a very inviting and warm feel to it. It is delightful. We could feel the love she has given to her home. We enjoyed the different rooms and sitting areas. It would entertain couples, singles, and families. Cannot recommend her enough. As a hostess she had put in place already everything we could even want, from a tea station in the living area, extra blankets, fans, to a spacious campfire area on the deck to watch the sunset. She's is available, yet we had all the privacy we wanted. She makes hearty breakfasts from scratch (baked biscuits, sausages, grits, fresh fruit--even fresh blueberries from her garden...) she was so accommodating even to varying tastes and appetites. Try the grits. Her B&B is immaculate, and the sweet cats who greeted us were so delightful."

"What a wonderful place to stay. So close to the airport. Shopping nearby. Everything we needed on this trip. The beautiful eclectic decor of the place entertains in itself. Every day we found something new we hadn't seen the day before. From the friendly cats to the eagles soaring over the yard it is by far the best we could have found in that area. What's better than a Deck with a fire pit, a beer in your hand, and a big cat on your lap?"
