Reviews of Inn at Marquam Hill
"The food is great but the company is very supportive in this bed and breakfast right next to the hospital in Portland. It is older and more comfortable than shinny newly built facilities. The shower had hot water!"
"This bed & breakfast felt like coming home after a long stressful day with my mother who is in the icu at the VA. I could relax and sleep comfortably. The whole place is inviting and clean. The on site caretaker Julie is one of the sweetest people I've met. The owners are accommodating and easy to communicate with. The kitchen is fully functioning as is the bathroom which has a tub that you can soak your stressors away. I stayed there for almost a week. I highly recommend this location for backpackers, people that need to stay close to the hospital for work and or for family who are in the hospitals and also those that want a staycation. Thank you Inn at Marquam!"
"Beautifully decorated, large house with good sized rooms to rent and a huge back deck where you can overlook the tree tops. The beds are comfortable and the jetted tub is luxurious with lots of epsum salts, bath bombs and mud masks to choose from. The provided shampoo and conditioner makes a very. The fully stocked fridge is way better than any continental breakfast, especially better than the new grab bag system at most hotels. The management was very generous and accommodating with our requests and concerns"
"It was my first time staying at the Inn at Marquam Hill and and I felt right at home. It was a perfect setting for my self-care getaway. It was the little things that made a big difference like the blueberry water left at my beside the day I arrived, and the warm glow of Edison bulbs on the back deck at night. There was a variety of fresh fruit, dried fruit, herbal water, and other goodies provided throughout the day. Ava fills the home with love and good energy. It’s her intuitiveness and attentiveness that left me feeling so nurtured and rested by the end of my stay. An extra special touch were the kisses and cuddles from her dog Luna. The Marquam Trail is a stone's throw away for walks in the forest, and the South Waterfront is a great place to take a stroll along the river, picnic, or dine at one of several Portland restaurants. I plan to make it a tradition to stay at this lovely place several times a year."
"Pros: Clean rooms, bathrooms Cons: No air conditioning I woke up sweating several times even with the provided fan on I got terrible sleep - nobody checks me in I walk into an unlocked house and pick up a letter with my name it’s kinda depressing -was asked in my letter NOT to ever lock the front door. I’m in a big city and anyone with any intention could just walk right in in the night. This contributed to my unease and lack of sleep. -was asked in my welcome letter to leave cash or check in an unsecured area of inn the kitchen if I have to leave before 7:30 so if someone is dishonest and takes it through the unlocked front door Who will cover for my night when I’ve already paid? With the amount I pay per night here at inn at Marquam hill I have yet to experience any “charm” I can pay the same price and get my own thermostat AND bathroom only 10 minutes away with a key for my door and a welcome check in person at the counter. Along with a continental breakfast. Since I leave early I get charged the full price but have never been made breakfast here. Also, there’s an odd smell I don’t like. With the heat it gets a little stronger. I won’t be returning here there’s plenty of other more comfortable options close to oHSU who’s price fits their accommodations much better. Here I feel I am being overcharged"
