Reviews of Alpine Chalets in Otter Rock by Vacasa
"Such an amazing place! Cute, little A-frame Airbnb with private beach access just off the 101. It’s secluded and private, so even though you do hear the Highway, you don’t really notice it. You’re literally a small walk down to the private beach access to the ocean with a ton of beach to explore without a huge crowd of people. Just minutes from Depoe Bay, Newport, and the outlets at Lincoln City. We will DEFINITELY be coming to stay here again! Perfect for family of four. Bring extra towels and some garbage bags, however. They don’t offer extras!"
"We enjoyed our stay for the most part at the jean claude alpine chalet. The house is in a neighborhood right next to houses, so it is not very remote. The hot tub was absolutely amazing at first, then it got cold, then it was amazing again, and then it remained cold the rest of the stay. So, while the hot tub was the best part of the place, it was also super disappointing when we got in and it felt like a bath tub had been sitting idle for hours. We could not figure out how to make it hot again, as it seemed the buttons were locked. The next day, it was suddenly hot again, and we loved it. It was wonderful and relaxing to look up at the tall trees and the rain, and soak in a hot tub. However, the next day, it was cold again. Such a bummer! That was my favorite part of the place! The wood burning fireplace was a high point of the chalet stay. The kitchen was lacking. The only plates and bowls are plastic, so you cannot microwave anything except for coffee (there were nice, ceramic coffee mugs). We wanted to make a casserole, but there was no baking dish. There was also no coffee grinder (so bring ground coffee) or a pasta spoon to cook and serve spaghetti. There were no mixing bowls, either. The toaster was nice. The main bedroom has a comfortable bed, but all the other beds were super hard. My son didn't sleep at all the first night and complained about how hard the bed was. I gave him a hard time about it because i thought he was just complaining, but my husband slept in that bed the next night and my husband said that my son was 100% correct. They both moved around into all the beds upstairs, but, they said all the beds were super hard. The house is a very short walk to the river, so that was nice. Overall, i would say the house was ok, but we probably won't be back. However, we did have some good times there when the hot tub was hot and when we were sitting by the fire playing board games."
"I have given this place Alpine Chalet #3 ( there are 11 Chalets), 1 star only because it is required to leave a post. The grounds were well maintained and had a lovely outdoor space. However, Chalet 3 was an absolute disaster. We arrived at 4pm to find the Chalet on opening the door was foul smelling and we needed to leave the door open to air it out. Numerous other things made this a terrible Memorial weekend. 1. Upstairs area had not been cleaned, with cobwebs in the bathroom. 2. The blinds on the front window were broken and when we tried to adjust them, the curtain dowel fell on my head. 3. The shower would not empty of water and black gunge came up through the drain. 4. The toilet seat broke. I could go on and on. This Chalet is not worth the rental price as it is and should have a complete makeover. I would definitely not recommend Chalet #3 to anyone."
"Villa #6 was okay. Broken shades that fell as soon as you touched them, remotes with no back covers, and some dirty dishes put away in the cupboards. The downstairs bed was really comfy, and the upper bed in the loft was as well. The two recliners were comfy too. Cute kitchen with everything you need to cook, altho we didn't end up doing that. They are old places so there's lots of wear and tear. Beware the sole toilet as flushing is an adventure! The beach access is not good, especially for anyone with mobility issues - it's straight down and we didn't get anywhere near the actual beach, but the lookout was beautiful. Its quaint. Will we come back? No. We like easy beach access and this is not that."
"Just wanted to let you guys know we love the place. Penthouse suite2 is wonderful. The view is so beautiful and welcoming. Cleanliness of the place is great and having a kitchen to cook and eat out on the deck morning and evenings is a huge bonus. The path down to the beach is neat and not too steep. The Beach is amazing. We so loved taking our golden doodle for morning and evening walk/runs, she really loved them too! Only issue we had was the blinds on the windows and slider. Two of the western windows had no blinds and the vertical blind on the slider needs some work. Lance the property care taker was great and very informative, especially the particulars of managing where to enter the 101. We drove from Colorado and this place made the drive worth it!"
