"I just had some blood work done earlier this week at the Salem Safeway Quest and we were treated with the best of kindness and respect. The nurse was most helpful despite the fact that our clinic had messed up and not sent the Lab Order in ."
"I showed up today for my 1:10 pm scheduled appt.. I have never been to a Quest lab before. There is no one to greet you or say 'hello, welcome' or let you know you need to check-in on a device on a stand that is the size of a tablet. If you don't check-in, you're ignored. If you don't check-in, apparently, anyone who is there as a walk-in or shows up an hour early and gets their appt. time wrong goes ahead of you. Not one lab technician took stock of who was sitting in their very small waiting room .. they can't miss you. But they don't talk to you. So because a gentleman was there for his 1:50 pm appt. and thought his appt. was at 12:40 pm (not possible, they're closed for lunch from 12:30 - 1:00 pm) checked-in ... they took him first. Instead of simply asking, 'Is our 1:10 here?' or 'Is our 1:20 here?' they took this gentleman ahead me at 1:09 pm. There is no sign indicating anybody needs to check in and NO COMMUNICATION between the staff and the customer/patient. Appalling. Your appt. time means nothing. Apparently they don't keep appts.. And after they took this gentleman before me, they THEN called out another ladies name who wasn't there and I let them know I had a 1:10 appt.. "Did you check-in? Check-in." Nice manners. Check-in where? With whom?? Where is the courtesy, the professionalism, some personable interaction? When I asked why the gentleman who was wayyyy early for his 1:50 pm got to go first the blonde ponytail lady told me "because he checked-in." You don't prioritize and call out appt. times? The whole purpose of us making an appt.. Never again. My time is important like everybody elses. Why make an appt. they're not willing to keep? The young lady who drew my blood, Raven, was wonderful, friendly and supportive. The young lady with the blonde ponytail was wearing a lab jacket so I did not catch her name. It never hurts anybody to extend 5-10 seconds of etiquette or common courtesy, especially if you're the one providing a service to a patient and for which we're paying."
"Understand this is not a Doctor's office. They don't have a receptionist. I love this site for getting blood tests when I don't want to drive to Portland to my Doctor's office. Billing has gone smoothly for me. Setting up your appointment through the Quest Diagnostics website means everything except checking in with your ID card and Insurance card is done in advance. I have found the phlebotomists to be friendly and professional. I will use them anytime."
"This corporation is amazingly cold. Customer service is a foreign language to them. I had some labs taken for my doctor 2 weeks ago, and the results are still not in, nor were they forwarded to my provider. Trying to call them is a useless waste of time, as you CANNOT reach a human being. No Way no how. We should all boycott this company, the owner is responsible for bringing drug testing to the masses, because it was good for his business. I can't believe I went there..."
"I was happy to be able to get blood work done with a fairly simple easy process. What makes me wish I could give a 0 star was the billing issues and the communication between the reps on the phone and the actual people in the back office that could do something about it. Over the course of a year, I was back and forth with the billing multiple times and never getting it resolved. They turned it in to a collection agency so I called them again. Of course no help at all. I finally just paid the bill and said NEVER AGAIN will I be back. Terrible billing, communication and patient advocacy."
