"They saved me from hypothermia by allowing me inside, and giving me a hot meal with some gloves. I am a housed individual. Anywhere / Anyone that gives free food in an attempt to help the community is okay by me."
"Nice place that helps ya get back on your feet."
"Told me my things would be untouched and safe when I returned and bed would be held when I left. Came back when they told me to and Jeff claimed all beds were full, about half of my things were in a dirty bag by the door. It looked like they took anything valuable I posessed(shoes and electronics) and then gave me what was left. I’ve called many times this week for a follow up or to speak with the director. Office staff tells me he is in the office and then when they transfer me to their line, nobody answers. I have left multiple voicemails this week, without receiving a call back. Expect your things to be stolen if you are not with them at all times. Josh and Terra in the kitchen are great though."
"I have alot to say about this place. But, here is not the place to talk about it. It's definitely cleaner than other shelters. The rules are bent according to who's working. One person can get away with one thing well the other person doesn't. The food... I grab a box to go BUT almost all the time I can't eat it. It's either overcooked, not cooked enough or just flat out nasty! They definitely NEED a better cook. Emma is a sweetheart. She's willing to go the extra mile to help someone in need. Her assistant, I said good morning to her one day and she ignored me. It's ok :) I was taught to smile and turn the other cheek."
"Chris made sure I had a solid load of firewood. He was pro social, positive, and professional. He was proud of his sobriety, and took pride in his work. Much appreciated and happy to support Helping Hands."
