Kids FIRST - A Children's Advocacy Center

Kids FIRST - A Children's Advocacy Center is a safe haven located at 299 East 18th Avenue in Eugene, Oregon, United States. Our dedicated team of victim advocates provide guidance and support to children and their families throughout their visit. Our child-friendly interviews are conducted by trained forensic specialists and recorded to minimize the trauma of retelling their story.

In some cases, a specially trained physician may examine the child to address their medical and emotional needs and gather evidence. We are currently working on implementing a mental health program at our center and welcome community support for this important project.

If a child's case is accepted for review by the District Attorney's Office, Kids FIRST hosts grand jury proceedings on-site in a safe and familiar environment. Our new mental health program launching in 2021 aims to reduce wait times for children in need of trauma-informed therapy.

As the regional provider for northwest Oregon, Kids FIRST offers support and peer review to neighboring Children's Advocacy Centers and community partners. Our mission is to create a place where kids can be kids and healing can begin.

When children in our community experience unimaginable trauma, Kids FIRST is there to provide medical exams, forensic interviews, and advocacy for criminal child abuse cases.
