"Everyone was efficient and kind. I was admitted quickly and had two nurses watching over me. The doctor and the Ultrasound person were respectful and competent, and I was well taken care of."
"I had my baby there and wish I had been somewhere else. Told the nurse that my water broke and she told me that couldn’t have been what it was because the strips she tested didn’t turn blue. Took so long for the midwife to get there I was an active labor and I truly believe that’s why I tore. Checked my cervix except for when I first arrived. They swore I wouldn’t go into labor before eight in the morning, there’s no way Baby will be here before I get off work. My baby was born at 6:35 AM and my cervix was only checked upon arrival at 10 PM the night before. The people were friendly enough, but I absolutely believe they should’ve checked on me more. And for the midwife to say that if the baby doesn’t come on these next few pushes, I’m gonna have to go! I was in disbelief, like where are you supposed to be going? I get other babies are being born right now Literally truly in front of you and labor right now. To top it off, they put a hat on my baby and didn’t even clean her head, So that was pretty disgusting. And as far as a lactation specialist, Mistake of my life, thinking that the woman at the hospital would be able to help me. She was absolutely no help whatsoever, and I couldn’t believe that I was in the breast-feeding situation I was. I was suggested to meet an older retired nurse a few weeks after I got home, and she helped my daughter to latch with zero pain on the first try. The lactation specialist at Kaiser just had no idea what she was doing. Nowhere as near educated as the woman I met outside of Kaiser. I have friends that had their babies at Emmanuel, and said that they actually lubricated them as the baby, Could you imagine! I wish. I switched from Kaiser after my birthing experience. The people were really nice, the woman who gave me my epidural before I needed stitches was amazing, And the surgeon who stitched me up after was. All my nurses were super great. They just have certain procedures and things that they do that want to be a part of again. If it wasn’t for the mid As well throughout this process, Who unfortunately wasn’t working, so couldn’t deliver my baby This wouldn’t have even been a three. Just having people who are nice is not enough. My daughter should’ve never left the hospital Not cleaned up. I should’ve had a great lactation specialist who stuck with me for at least. And I should’ve had a nurse, who believed me when I said my. And I should’ve had someone checking my cervix at least every couple of ours. I deserved better than what they gave me as a first time. Wish I would’ve checked the reviews beforehand, I definitely would’ve looked around for something better."
"Absolute worst health care—especially for homebound seniors. Denial of services like home health, physical therapy and wound care, delays of response from providers-sometimes up to 2 weeks even for urgent issues. Their response is always to send to the ER because there is never availability for non urgent appointments. This causes long stays laying on uncomfortable stretchers where seniors are not provided toileting or incontinence care, food/fluids or adequate pain control. The anxiety from someone with dementia to spend 12+ hours in an ER for wound care orders because the primary providers are overwhelmed is unacceptable. We are encouraging many patients and their families to switch from Kaiser to other health care services that actually address their needs in timely and appropriate ways. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you will get good care here. The positives are few and far between the negatives, neglect and delay in care."
"My grandmother has been here for over 2 weeks now after having a stroke, the attention and service she is receiving seems to be wonderful. The staff is joking when appropriate, which is nice and comforting. The front desk has been polite each day, even though most days only one visitor, they have been very kind in checking daily. The giftshop is a little unique here, jewelry and whatnot. Bathrooms are clean. We did have to have a notary and 3 people come in with us, and they were patient and helpful in accommodations for the 4 of us for this event."
