"Got my first new saw (Stihl MS250), older sales guy was more than helpful and got me in and out real fast. I’ve mainly bought from your normal HD or Lowe’s but the experience of seeing the product and having the employees actually know what they’re talking about is a blessing. Thanks y’all at Stark Street!"
"Warning, they did not honor the warranty of a chainsaw I bought from them. On 5/20/23 at 10:30AM I took my Echo chainsaw that I bought from them in for repair. The chainsaw stopped working and is under warranty, yet I was told that I had to pay $55 to have the saw inspected. The warranty explicitly states that Echo will cover all parts and labor, with no exceptions for inspections. Update in response to the "response from the owner" below: The employee at the counter never offered to refund the fee back to me if the issue was found to be warranty-covered. When I objected, saying that Echo should cover it under warranty, he did the opposite of what you suggest, telling me that I solely had to pay the fee and that no one else would pay it. I even calmly read from the warranty for him to hear and nothing changed in what he communicated."
"Man, look at all those 1 star reviews. Almost scared me away, but I'm glad it didn't! I talked to Craig on the phone about buying a Wright stand-on mower. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Next day, Craig was out, but I wanted him to get credit for the sale, so they had me talk to the manager, Leo. Straight shooter and took good care of me. He said they could have the mower ready in about 2 hours, which worked perfectly with my schedule. When I came in, Chad met me at the front desk. "Are you Matt?" Leo had brought the team up to speed and they were ready to take care of me. Normally when I buy a piece of relatively expensive equipment, it's a long-drawn out process and I find myself having to try to keep things moving. This was not the case with Chad. Everything was 100% ready to go. The price was exactly as advertised on the Wright mower website and on Stark Street's website. No extra fees. Swipe the card. Take delivery of the mower. Done. That said, Chad was more than happy to answer any questions I had. They weren't trying to rush me out of there. Regular old consumers and pro-sumers like me need to understand this place is for pros. This is the kind of place you should be buying things like lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc. They sell way more of them than big box stores, which can greatly minimize the risk that something isn't set up correctly when you take it home. Maybe some of the issues mentioned in other reviews stem from this disconnect, but I can only speak for my experience, and it was 100% perfect. Lastly, I'll say this: I really wish I had just made the time to come into this store when I started my lawnmower shopping journey. It would have saved me so much time to be able to see so many mowers side by side somewhere other than the internet and to talk to the knowledgeable staff."
"I took my old Stihl AV 015 chainsaw in for a service, and they did an excellent job. All staff were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They also helped explain the chain specifications my saw required for a new chain; all things I didn’t know about as an uninformed chainsaw owner. I thank them for their professionalism and knowledge about the relic of a chainsaw I brought in."
"Took lawn mower in because it had oil leaking on the manifold. After several weeks at their shop they called and stated it needed a new head gasket. Quoted me $250 to fix it. Had to wait two more weeks for the part to come in. Then I got a phone call stating the lawn mower was ready to be picked up. The day I was supposed to pick it up they called me and stated wait a minute. We just tried starting it again and found another leak. It would cost another $35 for a different seal. I said go ahead and order the seal package and fix it. Another week went by and I got yet another phone call stating it was ready to be picked up. When I got to the store I was expecting to pay $35 for the new seal and the additional $250 for the original seal. Nope. They ran my card and it was over $5 30. When I asked to speak to a supervisor regarding why they're charging me for taking the engine apart a second time, I got a bunch of runaround. The shop manager came out and stated that he had told me on the phone that it would cost this much money because they had to take the whole engine part again. That's not correct. That conversation never happened. They screwed up the first time and they should eat the bill having to have to take the engine apart the second time. The shop manager came out and explained that he was had no authority to reduce the bill and only the owner of the company can do that. When I asked to speak to him he stated he no longer works at the store but was in a meeting at the moment. Was told he would call me later. That never happened either. I will never waste another nickel going to this establishment ever again"
