Reviews of The Zymoglyphic Museum
"WOW. If you're from out of town, put this on your list. An incredible, well-cared for museum of oddities and wonders. It's free to get in so pick up a book or a postcard to support the museum."
"super quirky and fun. glad we came!"
"If you’re in the area this is a … must visit. Jim is very friendly, welcomed us in and directed us upstairs. The museum is all in a small car garage but still packs so much to see. It’s open the 2nd Sunday of every month. Jim does a great job of sucking you into this world and mystery that envelopes it. I’m glad that so much is left for you to interpret and visualize on your own. There’s lots of labels for things that are worth the read that serve as a guide in this wondrous world. We spent about 30 minutes and could have easily been there longer which says a lot about the usage of small space. Cool selection of gift shop items and no pressure to buy anything ! Did i mention it’s FREE admission ? this man could easily charge for this and is letting us into his world for free. Cool cool man. Will definitely stop by again in some time to see any new additions and maybe buy some books !"
"Quirky little universe, complete with maps and eras, created here. Free entry, but open only on specific days so would recommend to check out their website for current timings. Goes perfectly in sync with Portland's weird spirit."
"Such a cool tiny museum! So many eclectic, organic, art pieces and specimens to explore. It’s open by appointment only. The artist/curator responded back to my email quickly and I was able to sneak in a visit on my short trip and so glad I did. It’s in a garage and the first floor is the mans workshop and the second floor is the museum that you get private access to for as long as you’d like to examine the work. Wish there was more hidden gems like this near me."
