"I had a good experience with Island Cedar on a recent fence project. The prices were much better than the big box stores. It is very important that you understand what you are buying as their are so many different types and grades of lumber sold by this company. Do not expect premium perfect boards unless you specify to them that you want the perfect boards. I was not totally sure what grade I wanted to pay for since the fence project was a big and expensive job, but Island Cedar allowed me to visit their yard (by appointment) and view the different grades so I knew what I would be getting. I was unhappy with a few of the boards I received (out of several hundred pieces) and the company took care of me and replaced them. My experience with the owner and office lady was pleasant and I will be back."

This is a big commercial lumber yard that deals only in Cedar and not some small customer service oriented mom and pop place. That needs to be understood when reading the other review on this place.
