About Us
Washington Park is a charming neighborhood park located at 2025 Washington Street in Eugene, Oregon. Situated between West 19th and 21st avenues, and Washington and Lawrence streets, this 6.25-acre park offers a variety of recreational activities for the community to enjoy.
Originally purchased in 1940, Washington Park has undergone several rounds of development over the years, with the most recent addition being a new spray play facility to replace the old wading pool. The community building, built in 1951, serves as Eugene's first recreation center and is now utilized for various Rec activities, events, and groups.
During the summer months, visitors can cool off at the spray play area, where water features are turned on daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Those looking to give back to the community can participate in the Volunteer Program, where they can learn new skills, meet new people, and help maintain the park's beauty and functionality.
Rentals of the community building are currently on hold until June 30, 2024. For inquiries or more information, please email Teen Empowerment or call 541-682-5370. To learn more about Washington Park, visit the short URL www.eugene-or.gov/washingtonpark.

"Washington spray park used to be fun. Now the timers between sprays are so long that the kids spend most of their time standing around waiting for the water to come back on. Kids were getting bored and wandering off. I’m sure it’s a money-saving tactic, but it makes Washington Park not worth visiting."
"Magic button, on the ground, helps the water flow around! The big blue "buttons" activate this popular water feature. Great area to run and play, picnic and swing."
"Kids of all ages and parents will love playing in these underground water fountains. It's a great way to cool off the family. Only at Washington Park."
"We love this park! There's lots of room to run, a big spray play area, playground, tennis court, basketball court, a lower field that usually hosts kids sports, there's also an upper field by the tennis court. Bring a picnic and stay awhile!"
"Great park. Lots of open space and some good structures for smaller kids"
