Reviews of Avery Park & Natural Area
"Nice park. I especially enjoy the rise garden with the enormous Sequoia trees."
"this is an absolutely beautiful area, a big park with something for everyone of every age. even dogs! there are playgrounds for the kids, walking and biking paths, a river with a rope swing for the summers. I love the rose gardens that bloom during the right time of year. in the fall there are lots of mushrooms to hunt for too."
"Beautiful hiking trail! Easy, about 1.5 miles. Follows Mary’s River; there are several spots to go off trail to the river bank. Lots of homeless people in this area though. I would avoid early morning/evening walks."
"We had a party at one of the pavilions, and it was nice enough and close to parking so getting to and from it wasn't an ordeal. The pavilion itself was also fairly wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately the restrooms felt like they were a mile away, so anyone with mobility problems would need to go well before they have to "go""
"Fun park for kiddos! I remember coming here all the time as a young child. There’s a dinosaur bone area, playground, and train. The train has always been the coolest part. I remember the park being a lot cleaner as a kid but what can you do. It’s not from a lack of care of the city it’s from being vandalizing. Would recommend this park. Seemed safe enough."
