"My wife and I ordered 3 large custom made double door entries into our 3 attic crawl spaces. When they arrived my wife and I were astounded how beautiful they were. The design, craftsmanship and attention to details was amazing. The stain matched perfectly to the existing finish in our log home. They even used expensive slow self closing hinges. We couldn’t be happier and we have another project we feel confident using them on in our near future. Thank you Amcraft"
"We love our cabinets! Ron was great to work with, as well as the office, and installers. We had a great experience start to finish. We’ve added additional cabinets from Amcraft since the original install. Couldn’t be happier!"
"I’d strongly recommend avoiding this company. The craftsmanship is awful, the installation was terrible, and dishonesty runs throughout. If you read the other reviews carefully, you’ll see even the low rating they get has been inflated by the employees (i.e., “We really build quality cabinets”). We unfortunately were connected with Amcraft by a GC, and accepted his recommendation despite concerns. What a terrible mistake. There's not enough characters allowed to fully describe all the problems, but here's a taste. First, quality. The only thing custom quality about these cabinets is that they are made to size. Otherwise, the quality is lower than anything you’d get at a big box store or even a discount cabinet store. Some examples: - Base cabinets don’t have backs. [When I complained, I was given material to make backs and install them myself] - The hinges came covered in stain and polyurethane, crusty and brown (see photo). [I was given new hinges to replace them myself] - The inside of the cabinet boxes and all of the drawer glides are rough because they were covered in overspray while they were sitting in the shop. - Even after adjustment, gaps that should be consistent vary from more than 1/4” to less than 1/16" See photo. - Internally, there are gaps where the parts of the boxes come together as they’re out of square and poorly machined. I’ve had other custom cabinets made before with none of these issues. If you care about quality at all, find someone else! Amcraft is all about cutting corners in material and time to reduce their cost, not making quality cabinets. Next, the installation. - A skilled installer hides screws under the hinges when attaching cabinets together. Not Amcraft. They just slap them in wherever and don’t bother to conceal them at all (sides or in the back). See photo, also highlighting incompetent use of a drill. - Toe kick trim was comically bad. (see photo) - No nail holes were filed. - The only cuts the installers will make is cross cuts to the trim. If you have an older house where things aren’t level…good luck. I had to install the crown myself so it didn’t look comically bad. - Even after they were “done”, I discovered later that the upper cabinets were attached with as little as a single screw. Other screw holes that were drilled never had a screw put it. A tall vertical end panel wasn’t attached to anything at all. It could just be moved by hand. - On top of the bad craftsmanship, the lead installer had such a sour attitude that even the other contractors took notice and wondered what the problem was. Two separate times (once when he didn’t know I was in the room and another time directly to me) the guy lobbed insults at me after I asked them to fix things like a clearly-visible bow in the side of an island (that they had created with unnecessary shims) and misaligned doors. Finally, the process and dishonesty. - It took over two months just to get a set of drawings. I found many problems that had to be pointed out multiple times to get corrected. Things as egregious as a run of cabinets extending into a shower, etc. - Delivery was two weeks late, then it took over three weeks to complete the install while they dealt with cabinets that were built wrong and couldn't figure out. - We were told after delivery that the new fronts for an existing bathroom would not be installed by Amcraft. Multiple people present agreed this was not told to us at the time of a walkthrough when they were added to the project, yet Amcraft claimed it was. - The numerous deficiencies were raised multiple times to the GC and to the Amcraft salesperson and owner. They’d send someone to take a look, but it always seemed like they were trying to do the bare minimum, and would never take responsibility for their work. Eventually, they lied and said we had okay'd it all, then threatened a lien. I've never had a worse experience with any contractor or company."
"My husband and I used Amcraft to help us with our long-awaited kitchen remodel. Our salesman was fantastic and helped us design our cabinets to better utilize the space we had. We are so happy we went with his suggestions! Our kitchen feels HUGE now! We chose the Shaker style cabinetry with Rustic Cherry and Natural Finish. I now understand that "custom cabinetry" doesn't alway mean expensive. It means what it says..... built to fit. Amcraft's prices and quality were unbeatable! They did not disappoint! We are so happy with our dream kitchen!"
"Wow, SO many good things to say about Amcraft! We remodeled our kitchen this winter (Feb-April 2019) and initially went to Home Depot for a bid on cabinets. My mom then told me she had used Amcraft for her kitchen in Oregon City and was really happy with the result. So we got a free bid from them (they were able to drive all the way out to Happy Valley!) and their cost to build/deliver/install was less than Home Depot's cost for just the cabinets before delivery or install! They beat the other bids we had as well. We worked with Ron Hop who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful when we were making specific choices about the cabinets. He sat down with us in their showroom showing us what different styles and finishes would look like. The cabinets look AMAZING! They have a very professional finish and are exactly what we wanted. When we realized that one of the pieces of hardware we chose didn't fit into a cabinet, they worked with us to return it and come to a solution. I did find one correction when they sent me the plans for final approval before beginning construction (the cabinet in question would not have been wide enough) but that's just common sense to review the plans and pick up a tape measure yourself before approving a $5-10,000 project. Also they don't paint the cabinets because too much can happen during transit and it just leads to angry customers. We had ours professionally painted. Definitely recommend Amcraft!"
