Reviews of Northside Grocery
"Great little neighborhood convenience store. I go there often."
"Basic place to go to price are what you would expect for the only convenience store in your area. Not cheap, especially the beer but its a convenience store. The service is not rude or bad so I'd say it's good a good place."
"What a awful little store with a very mean aggressive owner. Went in to support the little guys and get something to drink. I went to purchase three Arizona iced teas they were marked $.99 each with no labels on the shelves at all and the lady charge me $1.49 each and when I asked about the price she says that they will choose to mark it whatever. When I let her know that want ok and I think against Oregon law she started asking me about how much money I made, I left the store and proceeded to contact the state of Oregon about the actions and she came out and got even more aggressive to a point where I had to film her because I feared she would damage my car or me. Will for sure be following up with the state about the gouging going on. STAY AWAY!!!"
"UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!!!!! Moving this store up to a 4! But gunna leave my old post. Thank goodness for change! Asking for a receipt at this store is a no no ( does the receipt paper cost THAT much???) The card machine is behind the counter so they input the amount. Without the receipt you have NO idea what they have charged you and I was almost charged $60.00 for a 5.00 purchase. Products are sometimes expired. The day shift needs some customer service tips. I've seen her completely judge the guy buying rolling papers and put a big smile on her face for the guy buying 3 cases of beer. Not to mention the .50 cent charge to run your debit card....come on is it still 1995? This is the ONLY place I have been that still charges you to run your card."
"I have lived in this area for 30 years and I avoid this place when I can. I've noticed that they often charge more than the item is listed for and 100% of the time break laws. I am not a lawyer but I have googled the debit card laws and it clearly states that no merchants can profit by charging a debit fee . The law is no more than 4% to my understanding. So if you buy something for $5.00 and they charge you .50 you just paid 10% and the store profit is .30 if I am correct this is a huge problem and I would not normally sit down and write a review on the internet ( I have many different things I could be doing) but it just happened to me again. I bought a 6 pack of coke and it cost me over 5 bucks. The price on the cooler clearly stated the product cost 3.69. So when you add the deposit it should be 4.29. The clerk started by charging me 4.29 then added the deposit then the fifty cent debit fee. I try to complain but it definitely falls on deaf ears. Someone please tell me if Iam wrong. And one more thing...I have also paid cash. Exactly 100% of the time with a cash purchase they have never offered me my change. I realize that its normally no more than about. 11 cents at a time but every time I do have to ask for my change and every time the clerk has already closed the drawer and makes a big deal out of me asking for my money back"
