Reviews of Hair Studio 408
"I went in feeling very uncomfortable with how my hair looked as it had green and orange tints from a previous hair dye some where else, I did not think they would be able to fix it but Shamel did great, I left with beautiful hair and confidence! They got me in with a 2 day notice and I will continue to go here for any hair needs."
"Kenia gets 5 stars! Studio 408 Manager owner gets 1. First off. Thank you Kenai! Mom life had got me stuck in a rut and Grey coming out everywhere. Kenia gave me a great color and cut even under a hurried time restraint due to my work. She was great energy and made the time fly with great conversation. If you're looking for an uptight stylist look elsewhere.Kenia is not like most stylist and it's a great thing! Couldn't be happier, this girls got talent! What was uncomfortable was the energy the owner or manager was giving to my stylist. At one point asking her if she found $100 in the bathroom but not just asking it was her energy and the way she spoke to the clearly younger stylist. And and then she kept walking by giving this look and energy I could not put my finger on. WHAT WAS ICING ON the cake for me was when i went to leave this person questioned why I was leaving with wet hair then proceeded to come over and take a towel and wipe my face and neck which had color on it. The degrading way in which this women's energy was to kenai was uncomfortable. I've never been to a salon where another stylist or owner pushes herself or her energy on someone else's client and questions what a stylist is doing or a customer. Kenia I would go back to in a heartbeat. Studio 408 has work to do on their energy and the way they treat their younger stylist. Unless this is a training program which your website does not state and your prices do not reflect such there is absolutely no reason for it. And even if you are training girl your attitude and energy stinks. Psst to the blonde owner manager or lead stylist your attitude and energy can be seen and felt a mile away, it's uncomfortable . Try being a leader There's a way to teach and lead that doesn't include degrading. There's a time a place to give feedback and a way in which you encourage others. If this energy was uncomfortable for me I can't imagine how it is to work in all day and also how it effects your team"
"This salon is like getting your hair done at a beauty school. The first woman who colored my roots turned my blonde roots into an orange band and told me it would fade with washes. It was so bad my daughter couldn’t look at me. When I went back for correction I was told it wasn’t red but needed to be corrected and that it would be a process to get to to where I wanted it. Giving her a chance, I went back 3 times to have my roots done and blonde highlights and my hair began to look like cheers spots. Horrible hair cuts and I had to leave with wet hair because she could never style my hair even close to correctly. I really tried to give them a chance."
"Booked a last minute appointment with Shamel and am over the moon with the results! I gave her very little direction and she worked with me every step of the way and ended the haircut with a beautiful blowout. My hair never looks this good. She did an amazing job!"
"2 years ago, I came in with lavender hair asking to get the color out and go back to platinum. There was very little color left. The woman who did my hair charged me $250 and completely destroyed it ; my hair was in good condition before I’d come in as I’d only ever go to salons and treated it carefully. Yesterday, I went to Confetti Crown and the woman pointed out all of the damage to my hair that was still present at the bottom of my hair because of this place. There is a clear distinction between all of the growth (down to my chin) and what they did. The stylist was extremely unprofessional and was telling me in a hushed voice all of her racist beliefs (that BLM was bogus, she praised Christopher Columbus ??, she made a ton of racist comments) and after finishing up my hair, she just told me to crush up some vitamin C tablets to get the brown dye that she accidentally put in out. The reason I’m leaving this review now is because the damage is still extremely present and in order to get rid of it after the two years that have passed, I’d have to cut my hair to my chin. Please proceed very carefully with this place, I ended up paying another $300 elsewhere to get the dye out and chop nearly all of my hair off. attached are photos of my hair the morning after my appointment, no shower nor styling in between the appointment and these photos EDIT: in response to your comment: I see that you still have that same stylist employed despite similar comments to mine about her. After 2 years, the damage was still significant to the point where any hair from that salon appointment has broken off. I have referenced you in previous reviews to other places. I have also attached a photo of what my hair looked like 4 weeks prior to the appointment"
