"I love this place, rather than having a bunch of irrelevant junk this place keeps clean, enjoyable stock. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Thanks, Paxton."
"So many surprises! I'm definitely going back. Friendly family business and they have a good eye for finding some things you forgot about that will make you smile."
"Hubby and I stopped in to check it out last month and found some cool stuff! Max has a great set up with prices to get his stuff moving out the door. If you don't see a price tag, ask what he'll take and he'll make you a deal. We can't wait to go back!"
"I visited this shop for their "Big Monthly Blowout Sale", during which there was an employee smoking cigarettes in one of the trailers where they were keeping items. We went inside and realized that they don't have any prices on items, you have to ask directly. If you ask the person up front, she'll tell you that you have to speak with someone else to find out, because she only takes the money. In addition to that, I noticed a few instruments that caught my eye (I have pictures of said instruments). I took pictures of said instruments to see exactly what they were and whether I was interested. After learning a bit more about what they were, I reached out to Another Man's Treasures via the email on their business card with a couple questions, particularly what they were asking for each. Rather than answer, they responded by correcting me on one of the instruments and telling me to come down and they would make a bundle deal on all 3 instruments I was interested in (The red bass, the banjo, and the duclimer, as pictured), and tried to correct me on the bass, claiming it was a red guitar. I tried to politely educate them on why they were wrong; the bass has four strings, thicker than a guitar's strings. After this, they rather rudely told me to come in tomorrow. I will not be going back or doing business with them in the future."
"Only encountered this place since they were listing some stuff on OfferUp. The owner was kind enough, and I was coming from Portland to pickup a specific item, and we arranged a time frame since the drive for me was going to be long. We both had some scheduling conflicts so after an hour and a half of driving I met up with his wife instead, which was no problem. (Although his wife/other family member weren’t wearing masks.) The issue came that he didn’t set aside the right item for me. His wife apologized and said we can drive over to his store right then and get the right item, which okay, not a problem. When I get to his shop, I get a message from him saying that he had accidentally sold my item to someone else. If I knew somebody was driving over an hour to meet up with me for a specific item, I would triple check before they left I had the right item for them, first of all. He apologized, but ultimately wasted 3 hours of my time driving (round trip) and a quarter of a tank of gas with nothing to show for it. His “solution” was that I should drive down AGAIN next weekend and he’ll “make it up to me” at a sale he was doing then—which, a) I only wanted the one item, not other items, and b) why am I the one that has to waste another 3 hours and a quarter tank of gas for a vague promise he’ll make it up to me? I don’t think these are bad people, but this whole situation was extremely unprofessional and I would not feel comfortable interacting with this business again regarding these shady business practices."
