"please stop supporting this corporation until they pay a LIVING WAGE they hire part time & dont want to pay full time nor benefits. they cut my sons hours, & many ppl, to where they only had a shift or 2 each week. even 20's cannot live on that REI charges a LOT & can't even pay workers enough to live on demand better support better please things will only change & corporations pay ppl living wages when ppl stop speak up & act"
"Really excellent customer service!! So refreshing! The person in the shoe department measured my husband's foot and turns out he wears a different size than he thought he did! Everyone there is super knowledgeable and helpful. Their online service is great, too!"
"Yesterday I went to REI looking for a little higher end compression sock. Walked in the door asked and he the associate directed me up stairs (was not looking forward to the stairs) however he saw my pain and told me an elevator I could take. "I took the stairs" Wow lots of socks, another associate saw me and asked if I needed assistance, she directed me another section. Found a good sock, did not look at the cost, went downstairs talked the the associate checking me out, she went way and above looking for my membership and we chatted. Left the store went home, finally saw the cost of my sock :-) I amost returned them but happy I did not. They are the best sock I have found that helps my legs "Zensah" They are excellent Socks Thanks REI"
"So, REI just always comes through. Modus operandi. Seriously, I’m in there with a seemingly defective product, a high level of “I rode nearly 10 miles to work in the dark because this light set…” frustration and they say things like, “Ok.” and “I’m here to listen.” and, better still, “We’ll make this right.” And they did. Yeah, you can find cheaper and free of everything somewhere other than in this tried and true, real world co-op, but maybe not two or three times in a two week spread like I did with this particular hassle. They were so good to me while taking in my frowning unhappiness. For instance, I can’t return either that cool sweatshirt I found on the ground in Westmoreland Park for a different size or that dented, garbage pile fender that won’t make it on my aged bike anyway. You know? Alright REI. I still can’t afford the lifetime membership. Yet. Maybe. “So there.” they must be saying. Thanks a bunch. Earned respect."
"We really liked this R.E.I. My wife needed a rain coat for the Oregon weather we got ourselves into. They had an amazing selection of top quality jackets. A lot were serious $$$ but they had a bunch of brands that were in our price range. They were really nice jackets double and triple layered. Unfortunately they didn't have the color she wanted but they did a great job of recommending a variety of types and styles. The customer service is fantastic at this store. Other than the clothing they had a great selection of whatever you could need for camping, off-roading, kayaking, etc. It makes sense why they do so well in Oregon!"
