"Awesome place and the employees are nice and very knowledgeable of what they are selling. Also this is one of the few companies left that actually answer the phone and will go over your purchase with you if you have any questions after you leave the store."
"Employees are usually great when you can find them. Had no issues finding help in boots but searched and asked for like 30min to have someone help us in apparel and gear on Sunday. Went in for 4 things found 1 and that's how rei goes anymore honestly. It is great they have online shopping and returns but sometimes you don't wanna online shop for 5 items to try knowing you're just gonna have to return 4 or 5. Guy as cashier was super nice and fast I will say. The young girl in shoes seemed to know nothing about the boots. My husband asked a few questions about fit and just general questions and she didn't know any info it seems besides how to grab a size if needed. And like all rei stores now almost no kids anything. Went to Cabelas that evening and found everything no issue. So did get 1 pair of hiking shoes but had nothing else we needed which was all pretty basic hiking/backpacking gear stuff honestly. And when we finally did get help in gear the guy just kept telling us about products that cost a ton but we weren't even looking for like some cooler systems that like hook up to blue tooth or something that van life people tend to buy. That's great amd nice they exist...but all we wanted to know about was the car top Thule gear boxes haha."
"Came here to buy new boots with my partner. Had a great experience in the hiking section, headed to the register. The one star review starts from here. Approach the register, exchange hellos and how are yous with the employee, everything's okay so far. Employee asks for my partner's membership. She informs her that we're not a member. Employee attempts to give the membership advertisement, my partner politely declines, stating we're moving and not interested. Employee continues to press, my partner, once again, politely declines. Employee CONTINUES to press, getting louder and louder and talking over my partner. The line at the register is very long and crowded. My partner does not do well in crowds and this starts to trigger a panic attack. At this point, I step in, and inform the employee that we're not interested and can you please stop. This woman then has the gall to inform me that "I work retail, I'm doing my job." To which I inform her that I also work retail, and the job is to make the customer happy, not to make them uncomfortable. She huffs, and says "Well, we're not in a hurry here." Yes, as a matter of fact, we are, you're delaying this and making my partner seriously uncomfortable. I tell her to just process the transaction. She then stares at me, goes "Well at least we're done here", and finally processes my partner's transaction. If I remembered this woman's name I would have listed it in this review. Terrible experience, horrible, rude employee who deserves to be fired."
"Olivia was amazing and super well informed in helping me find the perfect Christmas gift for my boyfriend while staying in my budget! Great employee and atmosphere! Will definitely be coming back!"
"Simply awesome! If you have been to an REI, then you pretty much know what to expect. If you haven’t been, then must visit even if you don’t plan on buying anything. This particular store is located in Keizer station. The staff is wonderful. It’s a single level, I wish their store was bigger. The garage sale section is decent sized. I have been finding a lot of shoes there for some reason. If you are a regular customer, the store manager sends offers every season"
