"This review is from Bruce and Kim Chambers, Lincoln City, Oregon. We met with a representative from Groth Gates, and determined an electric fireplace to be our best option. The product was ordered, we paid the fifty percent deposit, and then a series of errors and unprofessional “service” ensued. Space does not allow for all of the details, but a few of the highlights follow. Delivery of the fireplace insert took over a month, then a total of six weeks to finally be installed. Calls requesting an installation date went unanswered until we were informed that the product had been sitting in their warehouse for weeks with no one knowing who had purchased it, and where it was to be installed. Groth Gates installers did not communicate with the electrical contractor, despite our urgings, and that portion of the project had to be redone causing yet another frustrating delay. When the installers arrived they stated that they were not knowledgeable of the product, having never installed one, though the company website boasts factory trained installers. Two weeks after the installation, Groth Gates ordered a mandated inspection to satisfy permitting requirements, though they had already delivered an invoice requiring payment within ten days of installation. The final invoice was incorrect, was not fully itemized, and had to be corrected requiring more phone calls, and yet another inconvenience. We are quite satisfied with the product, however the experience with Groth Gates has been less than satisfying. To date, requests to speak with company management to express our concerns have gone unanswered."

"Toby was so knowledgeable and helpful about our homes HVAC system and walked us through some options and solutions for humidity. I would trust this company to do any capacity of home project and we look forward to working with them again!"

"Groth-Gates is the best! We have a vacation home in Salishan and the living room gas fireplace was not working. We made a mistake and first called Robben Heating who made more than 5 trips in about a year and each time they diagnosed the problem with some expensive faulty part but each time when the part got installed, it still did not work. We had to wait weeks for each part to come in and then pay for their time to come back because they would not take responsibility for their misdiagnosis. The last time, their technician was really nice but claimed the fireplace needed to be replaced (about $4,000). We decided to call Groth-Gates Heating to get a second opinion. When I called, it was a Thursday and we were going to be at the beach the following day. They were so professional and accommodating. They squeezed us at the end of their day Friday. Their technician got there between 5-6 pm and within 15 minutes, he got a tiny ordinary part out of his truck and our fireplace turned on like a charm. We have since used it for days at a time for at least three different weekends and it turns on like a dream each time. I cannot believe that it took over a year and lot of time and money to find out that it just needed a five dollar part. Groth-Gates Heating technicians know what they are doing and won't waste your time or money. I wish we had called them in the first place. Groth-Gates is the BEST!"
