"Efficient service done excellently and for a great price. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. A wonderful experience."
"Took a car in for a used car inspection. They didn't lift it at any point so they seemed to just be guessing ("we probably need to replace your tie rods but don't know which part or which wheel cause we didn't look" etc). Mechanic told us the car was a CVT and quoted us for CVT fluid. We popped the hood and there was a regular automatic transmission in there. This kind of damaged their credibility for me. They are nice and the experience was good but I do feel I was overcharged. $150 is pretty standard for a used car inspection but only for a thorough one. They should have charged half that to do what they did. I am very glad I went, but I wouldn't go again"
"11/9/22: I barely limped into Harold’s lot to inquire about repairing my rough running GMC Sierra. I spoke with Elliot and he said they were scheduled 2 ½ weeks out. Thinking I would try my luck at another shop, my truck refused to leave their lot and I opted not to have it towed to another shop but instead, to put myself in the queue. 11/22/22: Got my first call from Elliot telling me what the rough running issue was and he also informed me that my truck was vandalized while on their lot and that one of my widows was broken. I was quoted a cost for the engine repair as well as the cost for replacing the window. I later learned that two vehicles were vandalized on 11/17 and that Harold’s does not have liability insurance that covers damage to customer’s vehicles. Nor do they notify the police if a customer’s vehicle is vandalized at their shop—that’s the customer's responsibility. 11/30/22: Got my final call from Harold’s letting me know the repairs were finished but they suspected that my battery was bad because it wouldn’t hold a charge. My truck would start with a jump but wouldn’t hold a charge and I was quoted almost $240 for a new battery and install. I declined because I wanted a second opinion thinking I would just drive it the short distance to Les Schwab to have them test it, which I did the following day and the battery tested to be in good condition. Harold’s did fix my engine problem but unfortunately I had to pay an additional $373 because my vehicle was unsafe on their lot and was vandalized; and, they tried to get me to pay for a new battery when my old one was fine. I would not recommend Harold's."
"Disappointed! First, the positive; I was happy with the service, they were competitively priced, got it done quickly and the service was friendly. However, when I got it back I saw this (see photos)!! A mechanic's greasy fingerprints all over my headliner and sunvisors. Here's my deal, I bought my car new and it cost 40K. I take care of my things and expect others to do the same, but sadly it seems more and more business owners only care about the $$$! Here's the proof; if a business owner truly "cares," that owner would strive to treat every customer like their own family and would stress these values to their employees through training and progressive discipline. These careless fingerprints are evidence this is not the case at Harold's. One can also take a quick look at their shop, it's a mess! I worked in the automotive community and know a lot about the industry and am old enough to know about customer service. Harold's has been around for a long time and if they want to continue to exist and the owner(s) want to leave a positive legacy they need to change. In the end, these grease stains may be a little thing in the grand scheme of things, but it made this old guy stop and write a detailed, fair assessment of his experience!! PS, I will clean it myself. Who has the time or the energy to take it back to the shop to have them do it? Seriously!!"
"I've taken my 82 Corvette to Harold's several times and they have always done a terrific job diagnosing and fixing its problems. If I trust them with my classic Corvette you can too. Harold's has been able to locate problems, find necessary parts that Chevrolet doesn't even have access to and complete electrical repairs."
