Implant Dentistry of Eugene: Dr. Shane Samy, DMD

"What a horrible place! DON’T EVER GO THERE! Terrible people. My daughter and I were slated to have two separate surgeries. Throughout the process they were completely unorganized, we never received any intake paperwork, and every time I called to get more information (what do we need to do to prepare, when will you call in medications, what medications will you prescribe, how much will this cost?) I never got any information back. They said they’d email- they didn’t. They said they’d call back - they didn’t. AND the final straw: that we needed to see our primary dr to sign off before the procedure!!! Dr. Sammy’s office literally called our primary doctor his two days before the surgery (at 4pm in the afternoon so really only gave a one days notice) and told THEM to call us and set up a dr appointment asap. Mind you Dr. Sammy’s office never told us they were going to do that so when our primary doctor called us they were just as confused as us and irritated that they had to move their schedules around to accommodate us. When I called Dr. Sammy’s office to ask why we needed to do this, the front desk person said she never told them we had to be seen and accused our primary doctor as having misread the fax request they sent stating we had to be seen. They then called our primary doctor back and cancelled our appointment, again, without telling us. They also told our primary doctor that they cancelled our surgeries without even telling us first. My primary doctor ended up calling me to find out what was going on and then APOLOGIZED on behalf of the entire health care system bc of how unprofessional dr. Sammy’s office is. When I called to speak with Dr. Samy directly, they refused to let me and informed me they cancelled our surgeries with no explanation. This was the DAY before the surgeries. We had taken time off of work and school, my daughter had worked with her teachers to complete homework, told friends and family about the upcoming surgeries. It was awful! I honestly don’t know how they’re in business. And the fact that Dr. Samy never once spoke with us or called back when I asked him to speaks to his lack of compassion and ability to do his job. I hope more people complain and he goes out of business."

"If you have a fear of dentists, consider coming here. I would highly recommend it. I took my fiance into prep for an implant. She was scared. No Sleep the night before and very uneasy about going under general anesthesia. Shane Samy DMD and crew were amazing absolutely the best experience.
