"I bought a Cummins 6BTA from this place that was supposed to be remanufactured. It cost $25,000 and ran for just 1000 hours before it failed. I had done oil changes every 250 hours and babied the engine the entire time. It was correctly propped and seldom saw any operation above 1900 rpms. Prior to failing at 1000 hours I had to replace the following: drive belt pulley, temperature sensor, belt tensioner, two drive belts, shim the alternator, and replace the turbo (the turbo wasn't working from the beginning). It also used oil from the beginning and leaked some oil as well. The number 5 and 6 exhaust ports showed signs off excessive heat after the first 200 hours and it looked as though the other exhaust ports weren't hot enough. All in all, I would say they sold me an old engine with a new paint job. When this engine failed me in the middle of fishing season he said "sorry...out of warranty" and then went on to try and sell me a replacement engine! I would look for another place to do business. I would look to ANY other place to do business."
