"The store is permanently closed but corporate hasn't updated Google OR their phones. I loved SS but am not thrilled that I drive across town to a closed store, not with the total ATTITUDE that I was met with when I went to put a note on the door to please change the voicemail to indicate that the store is CLOSED. Crappy way to end a relationship developed over years."

"Although the he wearable robe and slippers I purchased for my daughter in law Christmas '20 I would give 5 stars. It was as advertised, beautiful, soft and cozy. Definitely worth the $115 Last year I purchased 5 different varieties of sweaters from open long cardigans to pullovers. They we're beautiful and soft right out of package. But then! Within an hour of wearing they start pilling and look HORRIBLE! To the point of embarrassment, I have been SO Disappointed. I was hoping for snuggly sweaters not disposable fashion, if I wanted that I could go to The Ross. These sweaters are not cheap, steer clear, you wouldn't believe the photos! Wish I could post them here."

"I've walked in the Soft Surroundings store at Bridgeport Village Shopping Center 3 times over the past year. My mom gets their catalog and enjoy looking at when I'm at her house. I love the long blouses and A-line sweaters. All the times I've walked in I have been ignored. The employees walk right by me and offer their gracious help and attention to other women in the store, but not to me. I can feel them staring at me but no one will speak to me or offer a smile. You have to be a certain type of person to be welcome in their store. Our society has come a long ways and has grown in acceptance love and grace for all people. But the employees at Soft Surroundings still have a lot to learn."

"Professional service, quality clothing, good prices! I continue to appreciate the staff at the local Bridgeport Village Soft Surroundings store. Upon entry there is a sign with directions and hand sanitizer. A staff member greets you and explains their Covid19 protocol (dressing rooms are cleaned after each use, clothing is steamed and sanitized, all surfaces disinfected frequently) and they allow 6 customers at a time. At check out the card reader and counter were disinfected (including the stylus) and the offer was made to clean my card if I wished. I've always liked their products - the sizing is consistent and the clothes hold up really well. I have found the staff to be helpful but not intrusive. Something I learned and want to pass along is that if you are planning to orde online you should call them and let them do the order, that way the local store gets credit for is and they can check for additional discounts that might not show up online. Orders can be shipped to the store free of charge as well."
