Reviews of Portland Dental and Naturopathic Clinic
"The new front desk office lady is perhaps one of the most rude I have met to date, seems that their staff wasn't too fond of her either. What a cranky lady who thinks of herself as very important! They force you to pay for services you don't need, or otherwise show you the door if you question anything. Of course, they don't tell you when you schedule for a cleaning regularly that you are obligated to pay for x-rays or exams periodically (something that the patient should be made aware of). The dentist seems rather incompetent, I'm not sure she can see clearly either as it's apparent she has cataracts and told me the same thing about the wear on my teeth as she did 2 years ago. I will be seeking care elsewhere. All around, bad vibes."
"I started coming here about 2 months ago after not being to the dentist for awhile, and they have been nothing short of amazing! Darcy, Halimeh, Dr. Azzizi, and Shelly are truly the sweetest, and they truly take care of you in all regards such as explaining your insurance compatibilities and going over the best plan of action for your dental situation so you can become healthier quicker while not putting a hole into your wallet. Thank you so much to the entire team over there!"
"Oh gee, where do I start! Well, let's start with Darcy at the front desk, she is amazing human! I actually call her Zina Warrior princess. Then there is Dr Azizi!! Not just a Dentist, but a ND as well and such a kind woman. I love that I am getting holistic Dentistry, and you can't help but feel like you will get the treatments you need (and I did). Then there is Shelly, that woman knows how to take X-rays! Next we come to Halimeh, the hygienist, I can say with all honesty my teeth haven't looked this good in years!! Everyone there is so nice and makes you smile and giggle. I used to be so afraid to go to the dentist, but not any more. Thank you all so much for taking care of me and my teeth!"
"As a new patient I was told I needed to have full set of x rays even tho insurance only pays on that every three years. I paid for comp part of exam which I thought included that. Paid in full after the cleaning. As Halemeh was polishing, at end of cleaning, I must have asked three times what she was using and she just laughed it off. She is quite chatty and I like her a lot but a bit heavy handed. Turns out she used a mint flavored fluoride and I’m allergic to mint. My whole mouth blew up with little blisters. A couple of weeks ago, I was told I need a filling in a tooth on left side. Made the appointment and drove four hours round trip. An assistant, Sherrie or Shelley, took that bitewing X-ray, and upon looking closely dr Azizi let me know I don’t need the filling now, and we should monitor. I inquired about another tooth I had been told by her I would need a crown for. Upon looking at new bite wing X-ray for that tooth, yes and I do need a crown on that tooth, but there is not time today, as it takes an hour and a half for the first of a two step process. I scheduled for that as I was leaving office. When I contacted the office later and inquired why I had been scheduled for a filling I didn’t need, instead of the crown I did need, the receptionist wanted to believe that I had taken the trouble to get a price quote before hand, and drove all that way, only to decline the filling! And then she went on to state via email, I had also declined the cleaning Dr Azizi had offered, when in fact upon closer examination the dr had told me I did not need the cleaning either. And now Darci, the office staff person, told me to look elsewhere for dental services, and is telling me I owe $s on a past bill and that I should have just left this whole thing alone and I would have been better off??! Even after I sent her a copy of my statement for the past services, showing insurance had already paid their portion and I had paid mine and balance was $0. Evidently dr Azizi is dropping the last unnecessary visit from my insurance, but the office will not respond to tell me if they think I owe them anything, out of pocket, for the last visit so I can resolve these issues. My experience of dr Azizi was that she was kind and knowledgeable, so I have no way to tell if this is just front office crazy making. But it’s her office and ultimately buck stops with her."
"Dr Azizi is really really awesome! She is the first dentist that I've felt the most comfortable with and I was REALLY anxious as I hadn't had a cleaning or seen a dentist in 6-8 years! She was so gentle and kind and reassuring as I had quite a few cavities to take care of. Easiest cleaning I've ever had, Halimeh was Soo sweet and shared stories with me the whole time. I felt so comfortable with her. Favorite hygienist I've ever had. All the ladies there are so great and made me feel so cared for. Dr Azizi was really open about the filling options with composite vs. ceramic and let me choose which one I wanted. She did an amazing job and my teeth look and feel so good! I'm so happy that I found them."
