"So good we were planning our next visit during our meal! It was exciting to get the kale salad, because my husband made it from Joshua McFadden's cookbook. His cookbooks are what inspired us to go, and we're so happy we did! The food is expertly made but approachable. Our party included some picky adults and everyone enjoyed what we ordered - arancini, Tuscan Calvary salad, meatballs, thin crust cheese pizza, pizza with mushrooms, pignoli cookies, cannoli,... We were raving about it between yum sounds. (Our next visit, we'll ditch the picky eaters to be more adventurous! We're curious about the kalette pizza, the thick crust pizza, the vegan pizza,...) Customer service was wonderful - attentive without being overbearing. There was always help when we needed it, without feeling rushed or intruded upon. The atmosphere is casual, fun, and comfortable. I cannot wait to go back!"
"The food is amazing - had the square cut, cracker thin pizza, arancini, the famous kale salad (yes it's that good!) the meatballs and dessert (Cannoli , pignoli cookies made next door at Ava Genes). It was also fun to order a pitcher of draft root beer. I can honestly say every item was perfectly prepared and popping with flavor. The service was top notch - we had questions about how much food to order for four and all questions were answered with patience. We had diners with us who do not like heat so chili flakes were left out of the salad with no problem. The server also accommodated our request to have four meatballs instead of the three that normally come with the order so that we could all try one, and she remembered that request when it came time to order dessert. It seems like many of the less flattering reviews are because of the 20% service charge for the staff but they absolutely deserve it and this policy is very clearly articulated on the menu and the website. You can add additional gratuity but there was no pressure to do so. Cicoria definitely deserves a spot on any top Portland pizza restaurants list. Next time i go will try the thick pan pizza."
"So good! Skip the line at Kens and try a Cicoria’s delicious thin and crispy pizza. I love their pies because sometimes pizza can be too carby and leave you blotted and tired… not theirs! Also, Chef Will is always adding something new to the menu so that’s always fun. Bunch of seasonal stuff but great staples as well like a good old pepperoni pie. Caesar salad was “radicchiously” good. Service was fast and fun as well. Family friendly but still a great spot for date night or drinks and bite to eat with friends. Must try!!"
"First off, you should know there’s included gratuity of 20%. I dislike tipping culture and want the staff to be paid fairly, so I really like this. 20% is my standard tip anyway. The server notified me of the included gratuity when she brought the check. I had a fantastic cocktail, enjoyed the great service, and loved the long booths and beautiful ambiance. The pizza could have been slightly better. The white pie was overly oily without much other than herbs to balance the flavors. Lemon juice might help? Perhaps this one is just not for me. It was a delicious thin crust, and I’ll be back to try the other pizzas. The kid’s menu cheese pan pizza was on the thick side for pan pizza and was mildly sourdough. Most kids would probably prefer not to have a hint of sourdough flavor. I absolutely loved it though. Next time I’ll order a cheese pizza for my kid from the regular menu. I really, really enjoyed the kale salad on its own, but would have preferred something with brighter flavors and less olive oil when paired with the pizza I ordered."
"Tasty, yet a little pricey. We ordered two cocktails, an app, and a pizza and spent nearly $80! Yeesh. Where I come from, party pizzas are cheap. But, I guess eating here is less expensive than airfare? Not a fan of the mandatory gratuity. Cute space though."
