"My experience with lake Oswego Modern Dentistry was by far the best experience I've ever had at a dental office. The entire staff was so nice and friendly and genuinely listened to my past experiences and what I was concerned about that day. The dental assistant, Jessica, was so sweet and comforting and Dr. Barzangy was wonderful. Her confidence made me feel at ease and she was very thorough. I ended up needing a fair amount of work done on a tooth that I didn't realize was in bad of shape as it was. Dr. Barzangy took care of it right then and there so that I wouldn't risk going on with it any longer, even though she had a full schedule. At one point I wanted to take a small break to massage my jaw because I have TMJ. Dr. Barzangy was kind enough to give me a little massage herself to relieve the tension. I've never had a dentist take the time to do something like that for me. All of the equipment was state of the art and comfortable. They were up front about pricing which also very reasonable. I was numbed properly on the first try and didn't need any additional numbing throughout the process which made everything go so quick. I am definitely a long-term client of Dr. Barzangy. I feel so happy to have found a dentist I feel like I can really trust."

"7/22: Another cleaning, another fantastic visit with Dr Afshar and his team. I have more to say, but for some reason, Google hasn’t caught up to Yelp yet to allow you to post review updates and since they cap the max words allowed, I can’t say it here. So see my Yelp review for more detail. But the 5 stars remain. — 1/22: This weekend I was eating some pretzels when I bit down on something hard. Imagine my surprise when I reached and pulled out half of one of back my crowns. In a panic, I called Dr Afshar’s office and explained the situation, and they could not have been more helpful and understanding on the phone. I told them I was leaving out of town soon, so thankfully they were able to squeeze me in for an emergency visit early Mon morning. Well, Mon morning came, and I was feeling really nervous because I’ve had many bad dental experiences in the past at other offices. However, I had nothing to be afraid of. From the moment I stepped foot into their office, everyone made me feel welcome and right at home. First impressions upon entering the exam room, everything was clean & very modern, and all Covid protocols were followed to a “T”. When Dr Afshar came in and introduced himself, I was immediately put at ease by his excellent chair side manner (is that even a term?). He listened to my concerns about what had brought me into the office that day, and after a brief exam & x-rays, he carefully explained to me what needed to be done to fix my tooth and exactly how long it would take. He assured me that not only would I be completely done within 2 hours, but that I would be leaving at the end of my appointment with a brand new crown, not just a temporary crown, which would have meant at least one more follow-up visit. I was amazed, but I have to admit, somewhat skeptical. However I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Well, 1 hour 45 mins later, I was walking out of the office with a brand new perfectly-fitted permanent crown. Yes, you heard me. A permanent crown in less than 2 hours! From start to finish, including the prep. With absolutely zero pain. And this is coming from the girl who is traditionally impossible to get and keep numb, yet Dr Afshar got it right on the very first try, and didn’t even have to give me a second injection. And his assistant, Hannah, was such a sweetheart and was quite literally his right hand the entire time. They worked in perfect unison to get everything done efficiently yet correctly, and more than exceeded my expectations. So long story short, I’m now sitting here sipping my Mai Tai on the beach in Hawaii WITH A WHOLE TOOTH all thanks to Dr Afshar and his amazing team who quickly got me in, even though I was a new patient, and did an outstanding job replacing my broken crown so that I’m now in even better shape than I was before it broke in the first place. So thank you, Dr Afshar. I really, truly appreciate all that you did on Monday. And I will see you again at the end of this month for my cleaning. :) — Update to my previous review…. My 5 stars still stand. Today I had the luxury (yes, you heard me right), of coming in and having my 6 month cleaning done by Dr Afshar and his wonderful assistant, Hannah, at their LO office. Right out of the gate, I could tell this was going to be a cleaning like none I had received before. Every tool they use is cutting edge, making their name, Modern Dentistry, quite fitting. The x-rays which normally bring tears to my eyes when I have to bite down on the hard plastic (you know what I’m talking about) were a breeze (thank you, Ms Hannah). And all of the instruments that were used during the actual cleaning not only helped things to go more quickly, but I could tell that a thorough job was being done, and all without any pain. I felt really comfortable today, and I honestly think anyone should feel completely at ease about having any of their dental work done by Dr Afshar and his team. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but they have the most up-to-date technology available and they will take excellent care of you. Highly recommend."
