"Had an appointment where my child is not able to eat or drink to to anesthesia.. they proceeded to push our appointment out only giving a 15 min warning that it was being pushed out but we were already there because they ask you to be 20 mins early. Sat in waiting area for 1 and a half hrs plus with a starving child."

"All of my children have seen Dr. Newport and I’ve never had an issue until now. I recently acquired guardianship of another child, and I asked the receptionist to do a benefits check with her date of birth, to which she refused. I have a degree in Health Management. This process is easy. When I told her all she needed was the date of birth, she proceeded to hang up on me. As a medical professional, that hires other medical professionals, I’m very disappointed. I never leave bad reviews, but hanging up on me he was going to far. There’s a standard of care that we all must provide to our patients. I have never experienced anyone that has access to any of the online portals to do a benefits check refuse. That is not the standard of care in the medical or dental field which I’ve worked in both. Do better training your staff."

"Edited to add: My original review was in exchange for a Starbucks gift card (which I’m sure some of the other reviews are as well). Since my first review, we’ve had a change in our opinions of the office. The dentist is great, and we’ve had good experiences in the past, but this week we had an appointment to come in and they sent a text message reminder to confirm the appointment. Usually we just confirm and move on, but my husband didn’t have cell service before the appointment, and I didn’t get notified. That being said, they cancelled our appointment simply because we didn’t hit a confirm button (according to them this is just their office policy) and weren’t able to reschedule us for another three months out, even though I asked if a time could be made sooner because THEY cancelled our appointment without our consent or request. The receptionist was incredibly terse and unhelpful, and I find myself feeling incredibly frustrated that our appointment was cancelled on us without any indication on our part that we weren’t going to show or wanted to cancel. If you’re going to use this dentist, make sure you always have cell service before your appointments. The actual dentist and assistants are nice and seem good at what they do, but apparently they don’t need new patients because they can’t even accommodate the patients they have, so maybe go somewhere else. ————— Original review: Dr. Newport is amazing, so great with kids, and the whole staff made the experience pleasant and were informative about procedures & plans."
