Reviews of South Toledo Bend State Park
"Beautiful lake with campsites most have lake view. Has a bathhouse with laundry available for use. Great spot to to spot eagles"
"First timers here. Loved it beautiful seen all kinds of wind animals. Cabins was big, spacious and nice. Only thing about the Cabins is they need to be pressured washed outside all of them. Need docks at all Cabins bc #1 sure needs a better spot to put the boat in and out and you could go out further to fish. Cabin #1 needs a better way to get your bags to the cabin without that long walk. Trash cans need to be put everywhere not just 2 in front of each Cabin. There should be a Trash can everywhere you turn and that would help keep the trash off the ground. Needs a gift shop. I love getting me and my family a shirt every where we go. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST NEED TO BRING THE FLAT BOAT TO THE PEOPLE WHERE EVER THEY ARE AND COME BACK AND PICK IT UP."
"We were a group of 15 people and got four cabins at South Toledo Bend Park. The park is beautiful. The cabins are just awesome. We had a great time and got a lovely weather."
"Very quiet state park in LA/TX border. Camping was great, their premium sites are worth. Book a campsite with wooden deck. They are really cool. Some sites has lake access. Staffs are helpful. Noticed the rest room doors need little cleaning. Overall it is a good place to camp, swim in the lake"
"As far as state parks go, this is one of my favorites! The campsites are beautiful and most have great water views. We paid for a regular spot which had a picnic table, fire pit, leveled area for tent camping, as well as plenty of room for our travel trailer set up. The beaches are really nice for swimming and provide easy/safe water access for the kids. The hiking trails were beautiful and gave many opportunities to view wildlife. The playground near the campsites was sturdy, but I could tell it had lost a few (insignificant) pieces over its years. The kids still enjoyed having an extra place to play. The shower house included a laundry room, which is a feature I have not seen at many state parks. The bathrooms and showers were clean, and the bathroom was temperature controlled-a feature I really had appreciation for since I have showered in the hot/muggy and freezing cold shower houses. The staff and camp hosts were very nice and accommodating. We stayed in the month of October. Though we weren't expecting anything extra, the kids received Halloween goodie bags and hayrides were given to camp guests Saturday evening."
