"Scheduled him to redo our bathroom. He said it would be a week. We took off of work and made arrangements. Once we gave him the down payment, we saw very little of him for 2 days. Stopped answering calls and texts. Kept showing up 3 hours late and would take a 6 hour “lunch”. Told him we no longer wanted to work with him...he kept our $2000...didn’t it do a SINGLE day of work. Never answers calls or texts. Never gave us our money back, no matter how many times I offered to reason with him. What a scammer. We are really suffering without that money."
"Hired this guy to do some tile floors. It was an absolute disaster. Kept giving me reasons why the job was taking longer or kept getting delayed. He made an absolute mess in the house. I would show up to the house, doors open, no one there. 5 gallon bucket of mortar left hardening in the middle of the floor. He did all the cutting and mixing in the house and didn't cover anything so there was a thick layer of construction dust throughout the entire house, in all the cabinets, everywhere. Grout was so sloppily applied that it had hardened on the base boards and the dishwasher. Tiles were uneven and chipped. There were hollow tiles (not stuck to the floor so I could just pry them up with a screwdriver) throughout the area. Oh and he used nails as spacers and left dozens of them mortared into the floor so there were little metal bits of nails sticking up all over the place. I had to rip out all the tile and have it completely redone. Look man I didn't just cancel a payment, I had to submit photos and have a second professional come evaluate the job and then the bank had to perform their own evaluation and determined I was justified a refund. I still have all of that documentation. You should appreciate that I only asked for my deposit back and didn't come after you for the cost of time and materials wasted. I've also saved a copy of your response below, and if anything happens to me, my family, or my property and I have any reason to think you where involved I'll have your statement as proof of hostile intent."
"I needed a good bit of work done to my house so I could sell it. I have been burned before, so I hired Cadiere for a few smaller projects that would just get the house up to code before deciding on the bigger projects. When he came by, he was pretty rushed- didn’t even look at what I was trying to explain to him. I explained so I just assumed no biggie, he gets it. We had 3 little jobs that he told me were easily a 1 day job. 1- I needed the multitude of wires in the attic sorted out/ cleaned up, what was no good/ unused taken out. He suggested juction boxes. When the contract came in, it only said 3 junction boxes. When I asked about cleaning out the bad wires, he told me that was a part of the process. When it came down to it, only the junction boxes were put in and nothing else. I was told that was what the contract said. It wasnt done because he wasnt the one actually doing any of the work. Turns out he wasnt even doing anything, he had left his girlfriend to run my job and she wasnt the one I spoke to about the job so she only knew what he wrote down. Apparently, she didnt know it was ‘part of the process to disgard old/unused wires.’ 2- My inspection report stated I needed the sewer vent in the attic piped through the roof. I was quoted a fairly decent price for that. Ive had to cut a hole through my metal roof for the gas water heater when I moved in and wanted nothing to do with that, nor getting in the attic. When it came down to it, and they were talking like they were wrapping up (after he came by to fix the biggest fiasco about to be mentioned)- I had to ask about the pipe because I saw no evidence of anybody having been on the roof. Well, it turns out that the actual pipe was apparently outside and already piped up, but it wasnt piped ‘above’ the house like code apparently wants it to be. Without even consulting me of this, he took some pvc pipe and glued it up to where it stuck straight up in the air above the house. That is NOT what I wanted or paid for. I know how to slap glue on pvc pipe and I would NOT have paid for that, much less the cost of what i was quoted for going into the attic/on the roof to cut a hole out. 3- we simply requested a drip pan be put under our water heater. When they started the job, I was told it was easily a one day job. I was spoken with and under the impression it was all done, so a week later when I went to the house, it was a nightmare. My back gate was open, a screen was missing off my window, inside my door covering the water heater was off the hinges and leaning on the washer, 2x4s were removed from the framing of the house, an electrical outlet that was attached to one of those 2x4s was dangling in the air, and the pipes attached to the heater were all cut up. Then, the water to my house was cut off. Upset is an understatement of what I was. When I called, I was informed that the plumber had an emergency and had to leave. Okay, I know things happen, but I was spoken to a week prior and NOTHING was brought up that whole time. Not even a mention of how NONE of the jobs were even complete, or that my water was shut off. We were in the middle of fixing busted pipes, so needing the h20 to work was a big deal. We are currently living an hr away so going that far and not being able to do anything we needed to do was a big deal. Cadiere guy actually came out and this is when I realized he did nothig and left it all to his girlfriend to do. He knew nothing of what was going on. They didnt even know where the water was shut off at to turn it back on. I always used the valve coming out of the ground under my porch, but they used the main water thing in the ground in my neighbors yard. Theres 3 of them and they couldnt even figure out which one it was. To make it worse, he was having his girlfriend go cut it back on and then talking bad about her and to her because she couldnt figure it out. We had to pay extra for the correct ‘code’ h2o pipes to be put on. Still took several weeks for the job to even be poorly done. Gas leak they left for me to discover cost me $100 to fix."
