"Academically: There are much, much better, but there are even more that are worse. Socially: Eh... it's a really great reflection of the city of Tyler itself. If, and only if you can find a group (and there's a good chance you won't), and if you can ignore most of the bad stuff that happens, you can be happy here. This was the better of my two high schools, but I know that my brother's current school is a million times better than this."

"Teachers often slept at their desks during class, made racist remarks, or taught misinformation (ie. the 'New Orleans purchase' or 'Condoms don't work'). Going to REL was one of the most upsetting times in my life: I have never seen such ignorance promulgated so freely. Do not send your children here if you can avoid it. As an adult, I am appalled at what I saw there and only wish something could be done to stop it."
