Reviews of Fire Museum of Texas
"Such great things to see for people of all ages, and I love that there is a children's area upstairs for an interactive experience for them and a little firetruck they can pretend to be firefighters. If not for Diana Ward, who watches over this museum, it would have been a fantastic experience for my family and children. She seemed to be having a bad day with a clipped tone, angry scowl, and constantly stairing us down, making it uncomfortable for people trying to see the history of Beaumont. My kids are young but didn't touch anything they weren't supposed to, were fairly quiet, and didn't climb on anything."
"Fun for family & kids of all ages! I liked learning about the firefighter history, and my kids loved playing on the truck. No tickets necessary, just donate what you want."
"Great little museum! Self guided tours are free. They had a new dog that you can sign a waiver to visit. When I visited the dog was out of office unfortunately. The staff of the museum are very friendly. Super cool and interesting museum. It’s about a 30 min - 1 hour stop! I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area."
"Such great history kept in pristine condition. Even have an interactive area for youth that can put on fire fighter gear and hop in fire truck, as well as a miniture house upstairs that kids can interactively play in. I was surprised it was free admission, we left a larger donation because its great for generations to see our history. We grabbed a few things from the gift shop, and the lady was so helpful and informative. She even let us know about an event, open to the public, coming up in October. We will definitely be back the next time we have out of town guests."
"Admission by donation. Fairly basic but still pretty good for a simple museum. Can see everything in an hour. World's largest working fire hydrant is in the park out front. Lots of OLD fire trucks. Pretty neat little place to check out when you're in downtown Beaumont."
