"Hands down the best banking experience. After having a time- specific issue that my other credit union just beat around the bush and ultimately wasted my time with, I walked into the branch at the VA for the first time; and within an hour accomplished what the other CU couldn't after being a member for 13 years. I was seriously impressed with their sense of urgency in my matter, and in how they made the process seamless. The people at VALEX are really good at what they do and are just as eager to help you."
"No communication. No return phone calls. Customer service is completely lacking"
"Been going there since 05, I'm in Green Team, Dr. Zorro's been my primary going on 18 years, VA. Been my blessing. Told my Dr. for years I could never say any thing bad about my time there. Heck wouldn't for Dr. don't think I would been around as long I have. Started going drug left foot, left hand stuck to my belly, OT ,2 years moving around. Broke neck, vert. 2,3an4 horseshoe frt.an rear. Rapides Gen. Said never walk. The Good Lord an VA. Were my blessing!!!"
"I've banked with Valex for 4-5 years now and problems didn’t start until this year. The customer service has seriously been lacking, and they've lost my trust with that and the inability to provide financial security. If you are considering banking with Valex, read the full review. 1. I purchased my first car with them, and after the time of purchase I moved and changed car insurance. I completed all necessary paperwork to have that information updated. I still received monthly statements just fine, but didn't know they didn't receive my updated car insurance. I received a final notice that they would be charging me an additional $1,000 for the insurance for the next year since they didn't have my updated insurance on file. This final notice was sent with an incorrect address from Valex, but corrected and delivered by my local USPS in Houston TX. I'd been updated my address with the main office so (1) this shouldn't have been sent incorrectly, (2) if they'd been sending mail to the incorrect address for months and getting those letters returned, wouldn't it make sense to double check their system within the main branch, or hello, simply call me and leave a message to verify? Not to them apparently. I caught them right before they were about to start wrongfully charging me, thankfully. 2. I was recently scammed using my Valex debit card at a gas station in the Conroe area. There were 4 charges at gas stations at various places around the Houston area that I don't live, work, or frequently travel to/use, increasing with each transaction over the span of 2 weeks totaling about $360. I don't check my account after each purchase (personal problem), and I don't think Valex has a feature for purchase notifications, so I had no idea until I'm purchasing lunch one afternoon. After I reviewed the transactions, I contacted Valex and immediately started their affidavit process for further review. As something like this has never happened to me before, I'm very concerned and want to know full details on what the process is, who to contact, etc. Every single time, I had to call them for updates or information, and they had nothing for me, not even financial compensation for my missing funds. The person who was supposedly handling this NEVER contacted me. Each time I called, I was provided with no information, just that she'll be in touch. The representatives who answer their main line, a Tina I believe, very rude and always responded as if I was being a bother, for wanting answers regarding my financial security. 3 weeks with no response went by. I finally called back and asked to speak with Mr. Chris, and magically they got their act together and put the missing funds back into my account. I still wanted to speak to Mr. Chris, about what in the world is going on and why I no longer see Valex financially fit or stable to continue doing business with them. 3. Valex does not allow purchases outside of the US, so if you travel internationally a lot or attempt to purchase something where the origin is foreign (unknown to you until you're attempting to make a purchase), it will not process, and you'll receive an automated phone call for verification. It asks you to verify the 3 most recent charges, but repeats 1 of the charges twice, so then you're not sure if there was a double charge attempt or if the automated verification system is off. The system is just off, but who wants to deal with uncertainty in that situation? On top of now having to find another way to pay for something. 4. Valex is not progressive with the way you can link your account with other monetary platforms like Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, etc, other ways outside of PayPal. How are they this ticky about certain purchases but don’t raise a concern when there’s repetitive gas charges of $70+ from gas stations on your account? Maybe they think because I’m not able to be there in person due to living in TX, that they can be lax and blow off my concerns. Not sure what the excuse for awful customer service is, but I’m done giving them the time of day to explain."
