"Let me clarify that I love Dr. Welchel. It's her office staff that I have a problem with. I went in recently for my birth control shot (very important) and was told I was released as a patient due to a past due balance of $80. Every. Single. Time. I left I asked checkout if I owed anything and they said no. I never even knew I had a balance. I paid it on the spot but was told to be reinstated as a patient I needed to write a letter asking for such. No. This was the office's mistake. I'm done. I had no problem paying my balance but I will not request reinstatement for an error on the part of the office staff. I was told REPEATEDLY that I was good and didn't owe anything."

"The bad review is for lack of communication. After turning in the new patient forms, I was told someone would call me after lunch. I had to call back the next day to schedule. The lady on the phone clearly stated the time of 10:40. I arrived and waited in the front. The lights were off where the receptionist sits. I thought they were closed. After waiting 10 mins, someone finally came out. Then they tell me I am late and can not have me as a patient. My appointment was told to me for 10:40, and she did not come out till 10:42. She explains that being late on the first visit results in not being able to be a patient. Yet no one calls me back on time and no one up front to greet people on time. Terrible policy!"

"Dr Whelchel has been my family Doctor since 2003, when we moved to this area. she takes care of my mom, sister and myself. she attended my husband for about 7 years until he Passed away. if she thinks we need to see a specialist she helps us pick them and stays in the loop. we love her"
