"This was my first experience in any sort of treatment and I am SO glad I chose Avenues. Especially once I heard from people who had been to multiple places - avenues really stands out. Initially I was going to stay 30 days, but because of the encouragement of my counselor and the amazing support of my parents, I was able to stay for 60 days - and I am extremely happy I did! I feel like it gave me the best chance at recovery. There were so many unexpected gifts I received by coming here, not the least of which was the community I built - I have really made some lifelong friends. The staff is also incredible. They truly pour their heart and soul into what they do here. Whether it be education, recovery experience, or both, everyone who works here is so valuable and wise. The facilities are great - as a single mom it really was a blessing to not have to think about grocery shopping and cooking all the time, but it was nice to be able to cook in my own kitchen when I wanted to. The structured schedule was great, and I really appreciated the AA meeting every night - it was so helpful having people from the local AA community come and share their experience, strength, and hope with us. I also love the alumni program they offer. It’s a great way to catch up with program graduates weekly, celebrate recovery milestones, etc. My plan is to do treatment once and live a life in recovery, and Avenues has definitely equipped me to do that, but I know who I can call should I need to in the future, and where I will send anyone struggling with the disease of addiction. Like in many sober spaces, I feel welcomed, comfortable and safe, and always have great conversations with like-minded, respectful people. "I just graduated the Avenues Program. I'm now apart of their Alumni as well. I would recommend Avenues to anyone. Unfortunately I've been to treatment in the past and Avenues is by far the best. The counselors are very good at their job. Some have personal experiences that really help with their understanding of the problem we deal with. The techs are also amazing.
