"I've used her for quite a while. I've seen the reviews. Yes! She does talk a lot about her family, but I think that's her way of connecting. The thing is that you need to tell her up front that you're there because you're problems are the reason that brought you there before the session starts and the session needs to be about you and only you. If she saw the reviews she would want to know why you didn't approach her with it. Yes! She loves her family I've said some things and therapy sessions are now therapy sessions. So just let her know by being stern but but rude! She gets it. Believe me she gets. Now she ask me what's going on with me? So just let her that's you're time!!!!!!"

"Barbara James was pretty good at first. My initial complaint, which I did make known to her, was that she talked a lot about herself and her son and his disabilities. I found this to be extremely unprofessional. She was easy to talk to primarily, but as time passed, she went back to her old ways of discussing more of her personal life than I cared to hear about. It got so bad that it was almost like I was there for her to talk to, instead of the other way around. She's nice, but nice doesn't get a client very far... Just like Linda G. Clark, she often answered her phone and texts, often times it was either her son or she was confirming appointments with other patients. Unfortunately, good therapists are extremely hard to come by these days, and she was definitely not one of them."
