Faith Training Christian Academy

"This is a review for K4. We are a military family and moved to Louisiana beginning of June. I did research on a lot of Pre-K and K4 programs and came across FTCA and was positive that this would be a great school for my child to go to. My daughter attended preschool somewhere else and she was thrilled to go back to school and learn, because she loved her old preschool and the teachers, who never had anything but positive things to say about my child, so fast forward, after only 2 days of her going to FTCA and she got kicked out. Apparently their curriculum is very tight and strict and if you can’t keep up with it, your child will be labeled as disturbing the classroom and interfering with other childrens learning. Mind you we are speaking about 4 year olds, it’s a big change and everything is new to them as well as every child developing at a different pace. In my personal opinion a child should be given more than just 2 days to adjust, but their drill and grill curriculum leaves very little room for personal growth of the child or fostering their strengths. With that being said, we are really disappointed in this school and regret our choice to send her there in the first place. Now after all of this, we spoke about what happened at FTCA to other schools, teachers, chaplains, school liaison officers as well as other education professionals and parents and we kept hearing more negative stories and examples where exactly the same happened and the children got expelled for similar reasons, something we wish we have heard of before. We are glad we found a different Pre-K program/school option for her that she truly enjoys going to and where she can be the bright, curious 4 year old girl developing her own personality and strengths."

"Have you just received PCS orders to Fort Polk and after lookIng up schools you begin to worry? This was me 3 years ago, but then I found FTCA after researching schools online. My son attended this school for 2 years. For just attending preschool and Kindergarten, we saw tremendous results in behavior and academics. Reading is one of the challenges children are having nation wide, but kids here are reading many words by end of preschool and writing their name. By the end of kindergarten, my son was reading books and writing sentences. We had friends who’s kids were attending north polk, and they commended Faith Training. What I liked most about this school is the Christian friendly environment. Besides, they have ZERO telorance policy towards bullying!!! My son loved this school so much and now he was sad we had to leave. Honestly, I was not thrilled to come to Fort Polk, but now I wish we could stay for school reasons only."
