"Highly recommend taking the jazz walking tour it ends at Mahogany Jazz Hall after we were stuffed full of 2 & 1/2 hours on history of jazz. Fantastic time as these photos will show just really, really good authentic New Orleans Jazz music. We are non-drinkers, but they serve really fantastic Virgin Bloody Mary's so I can only assume that the cocktails are wonderful."
"Are you looking for a lit night in NOLA? Then, this is THE place to be for your night. Hands-down, the absolute best valued venue you can find in the entire NOLA. Serendipitously found place by a huge jazz fan (me) who has explored numerous cities worldwide (Asia, Europe, and of course the US) for the best jazz venue to lose myself. Yes, I did explore the majority of the other jazz venues in NOLA. To tell you how great this place is, I personally visited NOLA again for a week just to visit this place every night which well paid off for the entire trip. I'm planning on another trip this April to listen to the best jazz players (who by the way also play at the Preservation Hall) play for HOURS throughout the night with well selected drinks offered by the Mahogany Jazz Hall. I wholeheartedly recommend the this place as its #1 fan. Cheers to all the players and the owners for keeping this place real."
"The best in town. Don’t miss it. Not only the band but also the bar team. Recommend to arrive at least before 8pm or 9:30pm to get the good spot to enjoy the show."
"Came here for some after-dinner drinks, and ended up staying for 2+ hours, thanks to the lovely musicians. This place has live jazz music all 7 nights of the week, which is a cool feature. The cocktails weren't terrific, so might as well buy some canned/bottled beers while you're here."
"We came here based on a recommendation by the restaurant manager, Samuel, of The Court of Two Sisters. The place was packed to the nines BUT, we met a lovely woman named Lexi, who was closing tickets and seating people, so I believe she may have been the hostess. She was super friendly and very accommodating and she made it a mission to ensure that we were able to find a seat, which I absolutely loved. I loved her bubbly and outgoing personality and hope that she is recognized for these traits, because she really set the mood for how we felt about the service here. The servers brought us our drinks in a timely manner which is commendable because as previously stated, this place was PACKED. The jazz band we watched for the evening was Gerald French which was honestly so lovely, and they played BEAUTIFULLY. The band was great and they have wonderful personalities. They were interactive and spoke to the audience between songs, and they have great humor. Their humor is a ten, by the way. If you have a chance to go to Mahogany’s though, it’s highly recommended. Just be ready to wait for an open seat. (It’s very worth it, though, don’t leave, just wait.) My love had a Lucid Absinthe, which was well made and strong. According to my SO, it is a little sweet, and it tasted kind of like licorice. I had a Bees Knees which is honey, lemon, and gin, and honestly I could live off of these now. I don’t know the name of the bartender who made it but they did a fantastic job. The people I met in here were super friendly, and we met people from all over the states and then a group from South Korea on a business trip, so just be prepared to meet people from all over if you plan on mingling and networking with the other people around you."
