Contraband Bayou Golf Club

"This is the course I learned to play golf back in 2005. I always loved the layout and played teice a week for years. It was nice to play it again and see how far along I have come in my golfing journey. I would give the course a better review than the customer service. DO NOT RENT CLUBS AT THIS COURSE. It is embarrassing for $85. The set looks like it was put together from lost clubs. Then I came back to the clubhouse, and I left the clubs in the cart for them to check. The lady at the desk with attitude tells me I have to go back out and bring them in. The rest of the interaction was very awkward to get my DL back. I would suggest the golf shop people should be better trained in customer service."

"Really nice resort style course. Not too hard, not too easy. There are some reviews about the course being in poor shape. That wasn't my experience. The greens and bunkers were nice. They had returfed a couple tee boxes which were very playable. Overall a very nice course and experience within walking distance of the hotel."

"If you leave anything in your golf cart it will NOT be returned. We left Bushnell wireless speaker and called 15 minutes later to ask if the cart staff turned it in to the pro shop...nope!"

"We went to play this course on 9/23/23. The first hole had been mowed and all the grass clippings, which were thick piles were left behind! The 2nd hole the grass in the rough and by the tee boxes had gone to seed!! The course was in horrible condition. We went in to speak to the so called manager to see if we could get our money back and play a decent course. His response was "the course is in great shape " he wouldn't give our money back, so we left anyway!! We will not be back unless they hire a manager that actually knows what "great shape" is for a golf course. A pastures is not what I consider in great shape for a golf course!!"

"Absolutely beautiful course. Took advantage of the $44 special for a round on Sunday. Everything was in great shape. Only issue was the rough. It's literally 2"+ thick so watch your ball and try to keep it in the fairway or it will punish you."
